I just finished reading the book _The Untied States of America_, which is very informative about how the United States, Mexico, and Canada could split up into a number of smaller countries if people decide they get really fed up with each other.
But that book has got me thinking about Canada. I like the irony in my future history in which Quebec is the only province that votes not to dissolve the federation, but I am a little disatisfied with the Canadian future history I developed to try to get the country looking as much like described in the MWWG sourcebook as possible, by 2077 C.E.
(Note: a Wisconsin politician has proposed a bill that would fine anybody using the abbreviations C.E. and B.C.E. instead of the traditional A.D. and B.C. So take that, Madison!

)
Anyway, I wonder what the MWWG Canada should look like in 2077. I figure it is at least a hundred years or so from having actual kingdoms with hereditary nobels and magic cake stands. OTOH, global warming could make the Canadian forests grow a lot faster, and drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge is certain to disturb ancient evils that arise and rampage across Canada (not having a very good sense of direction, nor any tendancy to read the newspapers).
Some thoughts I have:
1. My future history has Shania Twain returning to Canada. This is motivated by her music video in which she is portrayed as a superheroine character on a really cool motorcycle, eluding the pursuit of a giant stone golem.
2. As someone who has most of the original Alpha Flight comic books, I've got to have a team of Canadian superheroes bumbling around, north of the border, trying to keep their team together as they battle various evils that rampage across northern Canada.
3. If my post on the proposed future history of the MWWG world is still up here, (or even if it is not), it is clear that events in Alaska involving Auntie Josephine will affect the western Canadian provinces.
