YES!! Finally got the things finished. I've been working on a whole lot of 3rd Age EA ships for the last 3 weeks. After several bad paint schemes and having to strip back to pewter once, they are finally looking good.

Ermmm. never actually put a pic up. How do I go aabout it?

Some Narn I did at one point in time. And the entire reason I never built a Narn fleet past these, takes waaaaaayy too long to paint them.

Sad thing is I have another order coming to finish the fleet. 2 Warlocks, a Poseidon, another Avenger, 2 Artemis, 6 Olympus, and 6 more Hermes. And I got another 100 fighter bases to go with all that too. Oh ya, and 6 Novas too.

Omeha's Hoooo!!!

I love it, the Command Omega's look very good to! I was doubting if I'd get one. But this convinces me.

Great Job! 8)

Thx Dizzy, the silvery color was actually like the my 5th base color I tried on the fleet. I kept attempting to make them a bluish-black metallic color but I never managed to get it right. Stripped em all down to pewter and did the silver. Its Boltgun Metal/Oily Steel mixed 75/25 with black, inkwashed with Brown and Grey Liner, drybrushed with straight Oily steel. Its hard to tell from the photos, buts the silver is actually two tone, the above mix went all over, and I painted Chainmail on selected Panels. The close-up shot of hte Hyperion is th ebest on that shows it, you just have to look close.

Thx Raynar. My Omegas are the one bit of my fleet I wished had turned out better as far as actually putting them together. I used a drill press to to install square brass rod from the front to back, but in hindsight I should have used round stock ( didnt have any at that time, just went with the squar stuff I did have. Turned out better than I was expecting, but worse than I was hoping. And the Command Omegas? Twice as hard the normal ones, the Carrier rotating section doesn't match the least bit to the omega peices, you HAVE to drill it out and insert a brass rod through its length. The one good point is the damn things are near unbreakable, I dropped one from waist height onto a concrete floor, didn't even knock anything loose.

Hobbybox, it'll be : 5 War, 6 Battle, 12 Raid, 16 Skirmish, 10 Patrol, and 120 fighter stands by the time I'm finished. Ridiculous large, but oooooh so pretty :D

Thx for the comments everyone!!!!

Great looking ships.

For the dark metal color on my EA, I started with a dark gray color and then added a tiny bit of silver to give it a metallic look. Comes out pretty good.

I used a camera with flash when I took these, plus I had 2 flourescent lights on them. Under normal lighting they appear much darker.

I think I would've liked to see the blue trim that's prevalent on the Artemis' and Hyperions carried over to the Omega's. Is there a reason why it wasn't?

They did originally. There were 2 blue stripes on each side of the main hull. But the more I looked at it, the less and less I liked them. So painted over they got
