wonder why mini production stopped?

Mongoose
wonder if it was anything to do with the recent conf call with w.o.t.c. about ogl licence, where they would have to stump up $5,000, could be a possibility,

lets hope it does start again sometime, (but not p.p.p. please)

i think we have all shown that the game is still loved, just needs a good foundry i guess

Matt has already explained the reason why Mini production was stopped. Although if we fancy looking for other ideas, I believe an advanced race of mutant badgers broke into the casting facility and ate all the metal

As far as I know wotc want a fee of 5.000 $ for using the D20 rules set up from the end of this year for all games using this rules.

Could of been the blasted Replacators.

Maybe Warner got annoyed with the unlicensed minis from fans being advertised on the forum and decided to pull the model licence. Could explain the fan fiction being removed too.

I wouldn't be suprised if Warner increased the licence cost due to the release of the Lost Tales.
Also we all know JMS isn't a Mongoose fan (after the Mongoose B5 novels incident).

Wizards is pissing me off more and more as time goes on. Its not like they aren't milking the DnD franchise for all its worth. I've gone to downloading books (and not from official sites) because I'm sick of shelling out several hundred just because they decide to make a new 'version' even though this new version is almost identical to the last, except for some minor changes. Now they want $5k just for the licence? Asshats...

Oh? This I gotta hear!
JMS and Mongoose had ......a disagreement over Mongooses's attempt to publish some novels in the B5 universe.
He attacked the quality of the novels and also took affront to suggestions from Mongoose that they had his .......blessing.
I felt sympathy for the writers, their work not getting published.

Wizards of the Coast is similar to Games Workshop in terms of getting away with whatever they want. Now, I don't play Warhammer and I never will, but when someone comes up to me with a story where he got marked down for winning the tournament because the organizer thought his list was too cheesey, despite the fact that it was completely within the rules, that is just simply a game I will not play.

Wizards knows they control the market and they are pushing people around so they can make more money. They say 4.0 is making things easier, but what I've seen is completely doing away with anything that still had ties to the old D&D and making it more simple. I would not be surprised if, when 5.0 comes out, they will do away with leveling your character.

Part of what I hate about Wizards is its like.. .every other year now they are updating stuff. How long was it between 1st and second edition ADnD? not to mention till third...

I'll have to give it to wizards, however. Getting rid of THAC0 was so wonderful...

Other than that, I think they have hurt the game more than helped it, even if they have brought it back. They've made it more like a MMO than a pen and paper rpg in how it runs

GW are the same though, been not even 3 years since last update of 40k and they havent even redone all the codexs yet but this year is 5th ed 40k.
