I would like to see far to many to actually post, but here are some:

Dark Conspiracy
DeathStalker by Simon R Green
Aliens I have the rpg from a long time ago and the setting is very interesting

Thundarr the Barbarian

Space above and Beyond
Steampunk in the vein of Space:1889 I am going to get the SW book, but there is only going to be one book published and a setting like that can have tons of material.
Treasure Planet I like the setting, I also played the video game and think that would be an awesome setting.
Firefly It has been done, but I and the people I play with love that style of play. While it is easy to do in Traveller, I would like to pay homage to the creator and actors for bringing to live-action what we tend to do in our games.
2300AD and 2320AD I really like what Colin did with it, and think he should be rewarded for such wonderful work. Salute!

I will stop there as I don't want to become toooo long winded. :D

Space above and Beyond was cool...

Except they used the squadron of fighter pilots to also do infantry ground missions... no enlisted.

They should at least maybe have done some where they each lead a squad of enlisted.

Fix that so the military structure is more sensible and I would be great.

And did more ground action then space...

Space Above and Beyond did have them doing a lot of ground missions! I would hazard that all the time and money invested in training them to be pilots would make the Commanders reluctant to send them on grunt missions. I suppose that there were a limited pool of grunts to draw from, but it was still a bit overboard.

I always tended to think of the SAAB ground missions as "special forces" in its loosest sense of the word, because they would largely be enlisted men too, but it gave an excuse in my head fpr why would you risk a high value asset like a fighter pilot doing "grunt" work, especially when they did have regular infantry ... West's brother for example.

I'm a big Blake's 7 fan and I would like to see that one. Cobra and Blackollar were good and have lots of possibilities too.

Honor Harrington and the Posleen series were attempted as part of a study entitled "Investigation into the effcts of stupidty and fail on a games company", AKA Quklink Interactive... and in any case the Harrington series just got too big and bloated and, well, boring.

I'd prefer a coherent setting done in-house, and at risk of stealing an idea, here's my bid:

1. Armageddon 2089
2. Regenesis 2162

Idea being, both the Armagddon War setting and also the rather haphazard expansion into space made by the surviving states of distinctly trashed Earth.

I would second that, Blake's 7 was a great show 8)

I am just starting to read 'The Uplift War' by David Brin

I think it may have been turned into a game before but that would make an excellent setting book nonetheless

My vote(s) would be for:

Dune
Tanya Huff's Confederation series
Cherryh's Chanur series
S.L. Viehl's Stardoc series

To be honest, I don't think Doctor Who/Torchwood would be a good fit with Traveller. The system (to me) just doesn't capture the feel of the series.

Pax et bonum,

Dale

Yes, SJG did a GURPS version. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a Traveller version of the Vorkosigan saga.

Dr Who is being released by Cubicle 7 in November and Torchwood early next year.

I seem to remember something being mentioned about Blake's 7, but I'm not a 100% certain on that

No offense, but please rethink your text color choice. Red is traditionally for mod voices when the hammer falls.

Also, add Saberhagen's Berserkers to the list.

ah, I thought there had been one, thanks
I havent read the Vorkosigan Saga but if its by Davin Brin then I bet it is good 8)

The Jannisaries series by Pournelle Et Al.
Re-seconding the votes for Stardoc, Confederation and Stardoc series; I love the settings, even if I couldn't really get into the books (or at least the Chanur and Stardoc books).

Actually, Lois McMaster Bujold is the author of the Vorkosigan books. They're still an excellent read.

Blake's 7 for the win (please)
Both great ideas!

Stardoc? I read like the first four books, plus the one about "Blade Dancer" or some such. It's "ok" but feels a little overdone on the "strong female always solves the crisis on her own" plot.

Just my opinion, your opinions may vary.
