What is the relation between Uz and Black Elves?

Uz are the traditional enemies of Mostali and Aldryami. I've read though that Uz often associate with Black Elves. I am assuming this has something to do with the darkness rune.

Can anyone elaborate on the relations between Uz and Black Elves?

What is the relation between Black Elves and normal Aldryami?

Do Black Elves worship Aldrya?

As green elves are related to conifers, brown elves to oak trees, etc. yellow elves to jungle trees, the black elves related to mushrooms. As such they are not really aldryami as mushrooms are not really plants.

It seems that the relationship between black elves and uz is quite friendly, and not the bitter enemies as with other types of elves.

Black Elves, which are as different from D&D Dark Elves as a moth is from a bat, live as saprophytes in Troll cave complexes. They are not vegetables, like mushrooms are not plants, but they are not really animals, either. They do not worship Aldrya but the fungal god(dess) Mee Vorala, who is a Darkness deity. Hence their connection to the darkness myhtology (their physiological connection to darkness is obvious, as they are mushrooms).

They are sexless (almost all the time) and they are also the ultimate alchemists in Glorantha. Their missile troops are really deadly, as you can never tell what is in their slingstones.

Very interesting. Voralans, cool. So they don't use traditional bows eh? Is the Vorala cult detailed in either Cult book?

Hi,

The cult of Mee Vorala was published by Avalon Hill in Troll Gods, but it needs much updating. My favourites are the Fungal Golem-like creatures that the Black Elves use in warfare, as seen in the Munchroom Cave scenario from Trollpak. In my game the players have spent the last twelve years looking for the Mythical "Smokey Joh's Fungal Emporium" to discover that he is a Voralan Alchemist of immense power.
