What Have You Painted Today??

Even so, it's still good work on your part. I know how hard it can be to get decals that small just the way you want them (the EA logos on the sides of those Olympuses, for example), and your Roman army has a lot of them!

It is just about trickier than the painting itself. You have to be prepared for a few ruined transfers. Unfortunatly that one unit is the only one I painted. I got the warmaster ancients book, and liked what I read. So I got that one unit from bacchus as a trial. To see how they looked. But couldn't sell anyone else at the club on the game. So alone they sit, at the back of the draw where my acta ships live.

A dark wash over a medium grey base also works well. :) Actually, I did both - the dark wash made the whole ship too dark, so I went back over the grey with a drybrush.

An inkjet printer, some decal paper and Photoshop are also very useful for EA logos!

But if you really want fun with dry-brushing, try the Minbari...

I don't think worked very well for my Sharlins... I'm kinda lost when it comes to drybrushing without ruining those stripes (which i did with a semi-dry brush BTW  )

Just some of my army

Just did, on your photobucket page.

Does indeed look very good. The look is also nicely themed through your entire (posted) army, as well.

I virtually only paint CTA ships these days and I definitiely miss working out and painting interesting bases for key minis.

In 14 hours I have gotten ready for table top:
64x gaunts with devourers
30x hormagaunts
20x gaunts with spinefists
5x warriors with rending claws and scythign talons
2x hive tyrant with scything talons
3x zoanthropes
1x lichtor
1x hive tyrant with 2 venom cannons, bone sword/lash whip (magnetized)
1x carnifex with 2 deathspitters, scything talons (magnetized to match above tyrant)
10x ripper swarms
1x barbed heirodule (custome built from overseer bug)

we're supposed to start a lucky 13s campaign this weekend, so I went crazy... I'll get pictures up as soon as I can get a working camera.

Awesome dude! Bacchus make cool 6mm troups don't they, and the mass effect look takes some beating.

I wouldn't worry about your basing, you've done a better job than I did.

Yup. 72 soldiers look lot more impressive than the 6 28mm models that would fit into the same area :D

And the archers are going to look nice as well. No more pittiful single line archer units that look like "please go away or we'll be angry" with big unit bearing on them. Instead 72 archers looking like they mean bussines! Much easier to imagine sky darkening under hail of arrow with that many archers in just one unit ;-)

And yes Baccus models are great. Bit annoyance with standard bearers which might snap(6mm doesn't leave much room for thick standard poles...) but bit of greenstuff+glue gets standard up and working. One archer also was total mess(over half the model was missing...) but ah well. 1 misscast(and not miscast full strip but one model) out of the order with over 500 individual troopers isnt' that bad. Quality itself is nice. You can definetly recognize what trooper they represent.

Now to get more money so I could order rest of the romans for proper WMA army plus some celts to oppose them(as Briton horde!).

My WMA roman army didn't past the first unit as nobody at my club was interested in playing.

So alone they sit, in the draw were all my ACTA fighters live.

Completed two more T-90s and a Tunguska, horrible, horrible kits to build (think the Tunguska had a baby elephant sitting in it on the way over from the Ukraine  ) but nice when they're done. Also finished the detailing on my air units (1/144 Frogfoots, Hornets and Berkuts - 2 of each) Now they need half a day before I can matt spray them. Pics to follow. Just got to finish the uniforms on my Russians now I've got a good look at the new digital camo uniforms and that's another army done.
