What Have You Painted Today??

I couldn't make out the Ancient's name... What was it? The patterns look very nice :)

The ship at the far right is called 'Inappropriate Response', and the Ancient is called 'Boo!' :D

Edit: the Terminator WIP I posted already now has arms, and is Welsh. No, I don't know why :D

That's a really nice terminator. Did you freehand paint the dragon?

While I was waiting for my last ships to arrive I finished off some goblins that I had started before I discovered ACTA.

Sorry about the image quality. I still can't figure what has happened to the camera. They are based on the goblin army of Bolg of the North from the Hobbit.

I used the larger metal goblins to represent the Body of Bolg, as they are bigger, and have better looking armour then the plastic goblins. I am planning to use the stats for regular orcs, to make them a bit better than the regular goblins. As there are no shamans mentioned in the book I used the shaman models for captains.

There won't be any trolls or drummers in this army. As, like shamans, they were not mentioned in the battle of 5 armies chapters. But I am going to have to paint up some wargs and bats sometime in the future.[/img]

Finished off the last delivery of Centauri (4 Primus, 4 Maximus, Balvarin) and started to rebase all my fighters. Hundreds of the little bleeders over 8 fleets ! Switching them from SST-type round bases to square MDF ones, same size as the counters, as they're easier to work with in the game.

A pair of White Stars.

While I'm here, it's not a recently painted model, but I finally got round to taking a photo of it with my decent camera: the Revell Special Edition Starfury, with the stand autographed by the "pilot". :D

Here's another White Star. Not painted, though - printed!

Thanks to Burger for hosting the website with, among other things, the 3D paper models, where the White Star is now available for download. If you just want one, right-click on the image, then pick "Save Image As..." (Firefox) or "Save Picture As..." (IE).

havent done them *today* but this is mostly what i ordered b4 the end of sale:

I kinda like the Drakh paintjob, there's something somewhat disturbing about it... It's like they're a stuff of nightmare.

For the Gaim...great idea... IMHO If you do a light blue wash they would look even better. I could see the image of strangely shaped pitch black ships with glowing blue lines and symbols in my head... 8)

Too bad I don't have any Gaim... :(

my idea with the drach was using colors that screams danger, with the gaim is suposed to be hive minded so i used the colors off another creature that are the same: P and used standard colors on the dilgar..
check the hobbybox to see if they got anny gaim : P

Danger... yes, that's a good theme for Drakh.. The mothership was colored like some kind of a venomous snake or spider. Good thinking.

Sorry I don't really like the Dilgars. It's not the color... I just dislike the designs in general.

like the nw Vorchan / Liati alot - may just have to make one as run out Centauri models I want to buy :)

thanks :D

Agree about the Dilgar - can't get into the models - so gonna use these GZG / Battletech ones :)

i made it by cutting a second ship`s wings and glued em on the outside of the engines (the vertical ones mind you)

Noobdeluxe - like your Gaim, definitely gives an insectoid/beetle type look. Maybe evn better with some gloss varnich in some areas?

Your Drakh colour schem would look great on BFG tyranid fleet I am building at the moment. If you don't mind, I will try it out on a hive ship to see what it looks like.

As everyone has said your Vorchan mark 2 is a simple and effective build.

Great work, real inspiration.
