What Have You Painted Today??

Here are the pics of the Judges I painted... nowhere as clean as most of the jobs I see here... so much to learn!... but still proud of the results.

I just need to base them. comments are welcome.

Well I put together my Lordship (The spikey one, not ThoughtForce like the picture in the book shows). The problem being that 3 of the spines ended just above the orbiting sections, and no matter how I tried placing the three hull sections I couldn't balance the mini. So I thought "I know what to do, I'll cut all the spines off, and just have the orbiting sections" It sounded good in theory, but now the poor old Lordship has ended up looking like a mushroom covered coconut  Hopefully it will look a bit more convincing once it is painted.

Ouch. I thought looking like a thorn fruit was bad enough>.< better make sure to put some glow effects on the stumps.

Well, here it is. Sorry the pic isn't that hot, someone mucked about with my camera and now I can't get it to take decent close ups.

I tried painting glow effect under the orbiting sections, but since glow effect isn't my strong point all I ended up doing was make them look extra mushroomy. Instead I decided to chuck the idea of orbiting sections, and paint the whole lot to look like one unit. A bit like a Spathi ship, but not so brightly coloured.

Not overly thrilled, but thats what I get for chopping off the spines I suppose.

Cool fighters :) All ready to go out and ruin the younger races day.

Talking about going cross-eyed. I've started a 6mm roman army. You can see the first unit on their painting stands in the last pic I posted last page, behind the mushroom ship. I post a proper pic when I've finished the little dudes.

I made the planet killer a while ago from some spare wood and plastic I had lying around. I have tried playing with it and it is alittle unruly as it takes up so much room but because of its size on the field it causes a lot more fear.
