i'm going to build up my Vree Xonn tonight.

Just out of interest, does you Xonn have a big gap between the top and bottom section when they go together?

mine fits snugly together

mines had a little gap, more so on one side than the other but no more than 2mm at any one place. i just filled it with green stuff and it's fine.

Just curious, as mine averaged about 1-2 mm all the way round. It greenstuffed up fine, and after painting you wouldn't know it was there. But I was wondering whether it was a universal thing with the xonn minies.

i've only got one so i can't help you there. i did notice also that the plates that got on the hull turn up at the edges a little bit too. ahd a little bit of green stuff work to do on a bit thhat was badly moulded on the bottom piece of the hull but aside from that i'm pretty happy with it.

did everyone get a metal base with theirs?

Working through some of my recent "panic" buys:

2 Liati: trimmed the back to be flat (one large square engine instead of 4 tubes), added 2 centauri-style turrets to the holes on the upper side.

Whitestar: Trying washes for a change

EA Avenger: Added 6 small turrets, 2 forward facing and 2ea starboard ad port. Also added a conning tower made from a shaved down matchstick and the sprue off a pair of metal flight stands. Also added some green stuff to extend the forward bay a bit.

Okay so they're not "done" but I couldn't wait to post.

I really like your additions to the Avenger model, I have a couple of them and have always thought they were rather plain looking.

Thanks, yeah it was a bit plain. Not sure how to paint it yet but I'll figure something out.

All Avenger conversions I've seen seems to aim at giving it a tougher look as it looks pretty wimpy.. Someone here did a very bold conversion by stacking two Avenger hulls together... Alas, can't remember who :?

I'd suggest a plain EA look for the paint job, never liked the blue-white on an avenger.

Wasn't there an avenger conversion someone did using guns and a control tower from a BFG ship. Can't remember were I saw it though, I think it might have been one of Lt Dee's ships.
