Well, they are the only two careers left that haven't gotten an official splat book yet so why not?
Personally, in addition to the expanded careers and equipment lists containing specialist tools, I would like to see sections on establishing and running colonies/outposts as well as ways to include research into a campaign.
Colonies and corporate outposts could cover quite a bit from establishing an agricultural colony on a deceptively peaceful world or taking part in a mining expedition to a nightmare planet like Redstone (the lava world in Starcraft 2 where you perodically had to order all your miners to take the high ground to avoid the rising lava that frequently flooded the mineral-rich lowlands.) On top of the problems of trying to wrestle a profit from a hostile environment, pirates could take an interest in your efforts, hostile aliens could try to claim the planet you're on for their empire, or you discover the planet you're on is home to a nightmarish race that your GM might have borrowed from Aliens or that Chronicals of Riddick movie Pitch Black.
Research projects could also be extended and expanded upon to include the entire party. Unfortunately... not really sure what to do with that one besides the obvious (scholar PC solves the riddle, rest of the party helps him get the pieces together without getting killed.)
Anyway, my two cents. What do the rest of you think?
