couldn'tthey design a future harrier and just make it hover everywhere? Then it could use the same rules as helicopters couldn't it?

it is not a far stretch of mind for a Future Lynx to have AT missiles fitted onto it, its been done during times in the past to other helos and its especially viable due to the fact that the British army's attack helo is of US origin and with Evo pitting Britain with the Euros against the US its possible that support for the WAH-64D may of been cut meaning a emergency stopgap measure in the form of a tank hunting future lynx may of been created.

If you read the info I presented on Evo Command, the missile racks on the wheeled version of the Lynx are unrealistic, the plan to add them was scrapped.

again AW scrapped the idea of TOW launchers on the wheeled Lynxes
there is a big difference between a canceled project and a project which isn't even being considered...
It's not a case of not knowing, but a case of poor information. The LSW wasn't being dropped one year ago, nor were missiles being strapped to Future Lynxes, this was when the game was designed. It'd be different if we were talking 30 years from now but we are talking 2015, 8 years, modern equipment with known plans

yeah in the navy news last year there was a big piece on what the future lynx will be able to do, so mongoose don't need to do much guessing!
EDIT: but the Army are going to use it a lot too! Joint development or something or other, i'll see if i can find the old navy news issue it was in.

exactly my point, the same with LSW. Back in 2003 even I knew just from friends in the army that LSW was staying when the Minimi was introduced!
Hell if anything there was talk of reducing the section size to 6, two fire teams of 3 but that didn't make it into BFEvo if we want to talk not having crystal balls....
for recce, spotting for the Apache (since Gazelle is going) and transport
well currently the navy remove anti ship missiles and replace with anti tank missiles and such for ground attacks, lynx have been equiped with rockets for ground attacks for years evan during the cold war period.
and a few months ago i did a link to a report the army wish to turn the future lynx into a gunship due to its speed.

maybe there pringle carriers, ive seen loads of army Lynx with rocket pods on the side of many diferent configerations, they used to land in a feild behind my dads old house many years ago as part of an excersize, and i used to see them again when i was at westlands.

The Army used Lynx with TOW until we got Apache which is probably what you are thinking of....

first of all that is the old Lynx due to be retired, it is armed with TOW, which cannot be fitted to the later wheeled versions (as Future Lynx is)
You should know that the Apache which we shelled out billions for has replaced it in tank hunting.

Something that has been scrapped by the army may find itself resurrected by necessity though. We can't make that call at all. It seems to me that MGP has decided that the Future Lynx will go the way of the current Lynx and the Iroquois ie transport and gunship ability. Yes the UK has Apaches but they won't be everywhere and I'd suggest that giving the Lynx the AT ability is a smart move to make.... Also remember that MGP's main policy about weaponry is that it is made in the country of origin.. ie EFTF can't get US equipment and vice versa (eg SCAR and M416s) These armies are fighting each other... they won't supply each other with weapon systems.
* The British Army made very good use of the Lynx. It saw extensive service in Northern Ireland, providing troop mobility in areas where ground transport might well be bombed. At least one AH.7 was fitted with a "Chancellor" TV / infrared imaging ball turret on the left side of the fuselage behind the cargo door, with the turret used to observe Irish Republican Army activities.
Anti-tank Lynxes served with distinction in the 1991 Gulf War, known as OPERATION GRANBY in the UK in contrast to the American OPERATION DESERT STORM. The basic combat team consisted of two TOW Lynxes and two Gazelles, though sometimes larger hunter-killer groups were deployed. They were painted in desert sand colors and racked up big scores with TOWs on Iraqi armor. The TOW Lynxes were fitted with sand filters and countermeasures kit, including the hay box exhaust suppressors, the AN/ALQ-144 disco-light jammer, and the Sky Guardian RWR.

The Lynx 3 was a major modification, with a new, thicker tailboom that featured prominent tailfins; Gem 60-3/1 engines, with 940 kW (1,260 SHP) each; a stretched forward fuselage; wheeled high-shock tricycle landing gear to provide better crash survivability; and carriage of the US Hellfire anti-tank missile, the much improved successor to the TOW.
