Try and not get taken to a VP decision this time, eh Kenny?

Well, as the results are calculated using VPs, it would be difficult to avoid :P

Any news about whether you and/or Lee would be making this shindig?

To be honest, after seeing the Sleeping in Light event, the Gaim looked balanced to me, even in a "tournament" situation. They're a pain with so many fighters but not overpowered.

That gonna be you choice of fleet then Trig? Or you gonna stick with the flying plates? 8)

to be honest, as annoying as they were in the campaign event i attended, I felt i would have beaten them in another couple of rounds. . . and that was when they were deemed broken. . . but then i had a mothership with geg 4 and huge damage just wading through the fighters.. ok ok i lost on VP's as all my launched ships had been borded but still. . . :-)

Having 14 fighters around a ship can be a pain for some fleets. The main threat of the Gaim I think is the mostly ignored Breaching Pods. They sneak up on you before you know it.

I too find the Gaim to now be balanced. And they are particularly weak against certain races. They are however not quick to play.

For this tourney, however I will be returning my insects to their hives and bringing my telepaths into the cold light of day.

Agreed (although at first I thought the originals were ok  until players starting using them "properly")

They are still scary to face for certain ships / fleets - but the emines being slow loading / arced makes a big difference. To be honest the worst thing (sometimes for both sides) is the movement of fighters etc - it can take a long time.

Breeching pods are nasty - although I recall fondly the last Brakiri crew member on a haltona fighting off 4 Gaim troops - killing them all and still firing a gun each turn............

fighters as everyone has no doubt worked out will be hugely strong in the 2nd scenario - gaining / increasing stealth and being able to move at will. Makes the Drakh a bit vulnerable in this one.

Money is looking tight so I doubt I'll make i t, but I'll redo the sums after I get paid next month.

Can't speak for Lee though, but I'd guess not.

That's a shame fella

You heard anything more from Lee about what we discussed in Swindon - trying to put something together for the future? If not, could you PM me his E-mail address?

Nothing from Lee, but he is by his wn admission 'a bit crap' at things like that, I'll nudge him next week and if that diesn't work I'll get his fiancee to nag him

Quick question; as this is a 6pt War Fleet, are the ISA still restricted to one Battle point of allies, or would it now be one War point? 8)

Unless I downloaded the wrong tourny pack, fleets are 6 point Battle.

@ KennyBoy: you can have 1FA at War in your total pool fleet, but can only use a maximum of 1FA at Battle in any game.

@ LBH: you must have mate, it's War level.
