VASSAL Glitch

WereRogue

Mongoose
In a game yesterday, and in one today, we had an error where VASSAL seemed to lock up.

The incident in question seemed to be triggered by two players simultaneously (or, nearly simultaneously) attempting to measure the distance between two points. In both cases, "I" saw what "he" was measuring, and "he" saw what "I" was measuring, but neither of us could "click off" the ruler.

In the first incident, the situation was fixed by everyone logging out of the game and then re-synching, however, that was not the case today, and ultimately when we reloaded, we were just left with a blank map.

Any thoughts or insight into this?

For some reason, this version of the B5 mod considers the rules measurer an object that is manipulated like any other object in vassal. What this means is if you get to a point where no one can click off the ruler, just use the 'undo' command until you get to a point where the ruler vanishes.

i think its a problem from the program itself rather than the mod as i havent touched the range ruler or changed its properties, although i willl look into it and see what i can do if anything.

That's something we didn't try, but it's a good idea. We'll see if it comes up again, and then Undo back 'til it vanishes.

Thanks for the good idea, Laranos, and for looking into it further, Kat.
