Hi guys.

Just to let you know that a VaS tournament will be held in our offices on November 24th. And yes, Order of Battle will be there!

More details coming soon.

I'll see if I can get a pass out for the day :)

as an aside, it doesn't clash with Warfare at Reading does it? (hoping Warfare is the week before)

Count me in. Don't know what to bring yet, but it won't be Russians.

Will OOB be out by this point?

Just curious....

What is the address of your office?

Wish I could attend, but I am pretty sure its a long ways from where I live in Canada!

Peace

Probably about as far as it is from Illinois. :(

Still closer than it is to San Diego.

Good to see that some of the Salty Seadogs will be there (Ben I think you've been inducted into that esteemed group). Kick some tail, boys.

I'm in Pompey too, in Baffins.
Maybe we can get a Portsmouth Posse together and really represent the UKs biggest and best Naval base?
I have a pal who may be interested too. I also have a car.

regards
Si

Gazman, if you ever fancy a game drop me a line, alltho one of us would have to either sail the infinate vastness of the harbour or drive round it.

Pompey Posse, hhmmmm got a good ring to it but keep on thinking of other names, hehe!!

What I meant was will OOB be out and in use at the event. If so I'll be goig British or Japanese. French, Italian and German also tempt me, using dreadnoughts as flagships for the first two rather than the war level battleships.
My fleet build with the changes in OOB will be completely different to without.
The other more important point is will aircraft changes be in use, as this means we'll see a lot of carriers (and may want to prevent a 3 or 4 carrier fleet from dominating the game).

Good point.... I imagine if they play to OOB rules then aircraft will become more attractive...

I'm guessing it will be there to view, maybe purchase, possibly even try out the mods. But not as 'rules' for the tourney.

Oh, well, I guess we await the details from Mongoose as to the format.

That would be a shame, because with the minor rules amendments in the supplement it fixes a lot of problems and aircraft power is the big one. Plus all the ships are errata'd that need it and some of the balance problems are ironed out. Some fleets that are crappy at high engagement levels ie the French, get sorted out.

Given the desirability of Battle level WWI and 20s dreadnoughts and superdreadnoughts even before the supplement comes out (would you ever not take a QE class as the British? And New Yorks are an excellent battle level choice, as is the Nagato), I anticipate a lot of fleets built around a battle level BB. I'm even tempted to take a French fleet so I can field the comedy fleet and include a Surcouf. But without OOB and the additions and erratas in there then I wouldn't because the French wouldn't standa a chance.
