V2 of ACTA:SF

Ok here is my question. When can we expect to start hearing about the v2 of this game. Some of the posts in the ADB forums indicate that a major overhaul is coming. For me I just need to have some idea of when this might take place and what the changes will be. Im on the verge of dumping the whole thing and selling off my collection. I been hanging around since the start and am getting a bit tired. Ive still got Battle Stations on order ive yet to receive. Just a heads up to the future would be nice.

Sorry no idea when or even if it will happen.

There are two huge obsticles to major changes:

1) the ACTA System works, it may not always do what people want , but it provides a fast moving, exciting system for startships combat in my and others opinion. Mess too much with it and it doesn't..........

2) There are huge amount of restraints that are in place in order to keep ACTA:SF in line with other SFU products and background. You can't mess with any of these and still keep it "SFU" compliant.

There is a lot of support for a combination of the errata and faq to update the current edition, but some of these need to be furterh calrified - in particular Scouting / Escorts etc. Bascially a Tyding up of the rules - but I am not sure you will ge tthe full re-write that 2nd ed ACTA: B5 was.

so for you good news - very little is happening at present with regards to ACTA:SF- so carry on if you are enjoying it.

Reading the same Forums I would say calling what they are talking about a consolidation of Erratta. Things like Ship Stats, Drone and Scout Rules updated to the errat. Not a Major Overhaul or even a Version 2 Rewrite of the Ruleset.

Apparently ADB has worked through the ships except for the Civilian List. After that they want to clean up the Rules and make sure everything for Book on including Models have been released then move into Book2.

And on the note of ACTA:SF works. Just because something works does not mean it works right. Both sides will have to work with each other to get this done correctly.

You really need a flexible rule book (ie: PDF) so you can update without a large cost for players. The extra ships are nice but don't post new types until much closer to release to prevent annoyance with delays in shipping. Also some company's out there are able to make plastic minis (Fantasy Flight games for one) that are high quality. Is there any hope you will produce a plastic or some other material mini in the future. The technology is there. You could have pre-painted and un-painted minis for each taste.
