Uzuz and the Trollkin Curse

Races of Glorantha says that Mistress Race trolls are immune to the trollkin curse, yet G:TSE says that of the three Mistress Race rulers of Halikiv, Toolani "bears fewer trollkin per litter than any other Uz". Also it says they were born in the early decades of the First Age, and I didn't think that any Uzuz had been born since the Dawn. Maybe they aren't really Mistress Race.

This information has always been a little uncertain - I suspect the Trolls are careful not to tell anyone the whole truth (Anilla is very good at keeping secrets!)

Technically, No Uzuz can have been born since the Trolls left Wonderhome - in practice I don't think there is a clear line (I'm sure I read somewhere that there is/are Uzuz who have never seen the Sun and these can still breed true) so I would suspect there were still some Uzuz born after the first Uzko started to appear.

Following the Trollkin curse, any Troll birth may result in the birth of Enlo. It may be the magical strength of the Uzuz is sufficiently strong to protect them from the curse - or maybe those Mistress Race who have not given birth to trollkin spread the rumour that they are immune!

Another thought - it may be possible for a troll to Heroquest to change its race, so a Troll born as an Uzko since the dawn may, via heroquesting prove that it is (and always was?) an Uzuz...

The very few and rare members of the troll Mistress Race bred true with whatever type of troll they mated, sometimes including spirits. But these survivors from primeval times were rare, and rarely bred.

"fewer trollkin per litter" is interesting too - Multiple births are one of the indicators of Trollkin birth - so is a smaller litter a sign of better or worse fertility?
