just wondering whats up with the us compandium army list...
snip...

Well all is progressing as planned. We are confident to have the book released on schedule! 8)
As far as some of the mentioned vehicles are concerned, some are in, some not. You always have to exclude some vehicle or unit. In the end there is always something like the author's prerogative...

But to ease your pain at least a bit; here are just the Sherman variants you are getting in addition to the above mentioned:
• M4 (105) Sherman
• M4 (105) HVSS Sherman
• M4A1 (76) W HVSS Sherman
• M4A2 (76) W Sherman
• M4A2 (76) W HVSS Sherman
• M4A3 Flamethrower Sherman
• M4A3 (105) Sherman
• M4A3 (105) HVSS Sherman
• M4A3 (75) Sherman
• M4A3 (76) W HVSS Sherman
• M4A3 E2 (75) Sherman

It'll be nice to see how the Krieg Gear is like, do you know a release date?

As said on my website: 2nd half of 2009. We are right now in the middle of some heavy duty playtesting.
The Gears are not so much a problem, they are basically done. At the moment the rule for FoW style based infantry is in the focus. Since most 15mm minis are group based we really need some quality fast playing rules for group based infantry. IMO we are on a very solid way at the moment.

Great

Work on the US VC has continued as planned, Dave is currently very busy doing the final layout and creating the unit cards.
So time to show a sample page and the corresponding unit card!

Hi again,

newest model for my upcoming British and Commonwealth Vehicle Compendium (see: http://www.agisn.de/html/british_vc.html).
A slightly converted Centurion MkI in 1:56. I made it a habit to include one "very" late war (aka "What If?") vehicle in my Vehicle Compendiums. For the British it is the Centurion.

Since there is no MkI around in 1:56 I decided to convert the excellent Force of Army Mk III.
Basically only the turret is changed, I sawed off some of the big side boxes and covered some gaps with some blanket rolls and jerry cans.
Works for me!
The crewman is from BAM, the extra stowage from Chieftain.

Oh and before the more historically oriented rivet counters ask, the model is representing the Besa armed prototype (could not find a suitable Polsten...).

I've finally sat down to start modifying a 15mm (QRF) mark 3 Centurion in much the same way - though it's effectively amounted to a complete stripping back of the turret to the bare shape (the Mk3 isn't quite 'right' in profile or otherwise). Building the polsten gun ball mount is also a nightmare... do-able, but demands green stuff and plasticard, and alot of patience.

Please show us your results! I am curious...
:D

Well, after much cursing, slicing, gluing, ungluing, regluing and a little bit of filing...

Unfortunately I dont have any WIPs of the process. The basic run of it was: hacking off all features from the cast turret, coarse filing and emery clothing back to a generally smooth finish. Then, using a photo of the A41 for reference, cutting the new turret top shape (and side profile) from thin sheet plasticard (1/2 mm I think I used). It was necessary to increase the turret height and also width to the rear considerably - so the plasticard is sat on greenstuff.

This required some bodging to make work, so once the green had set, I returned on day 2 to cut (sharp knife) the main features in - such as the 'drop' from the rear bustle of the turret to the turret ring, and the front section which needs to be recessed for the polsten gun mount.

The polsten mount was another blob of green, with a plasticard circle of the appropriate diamater as a front reference for sculpting back the molding; then another blob, with the barrel cut from a paperclip, and brass rod.

I retained the 20pdr barrel, as the 17pdr/77mm from the Comet tanks I also purchased was just too small.

The other turret features are best appoximations in greenstuff and more plasticard. I'll tidy up further once this application has set.

Whoahh, nice result. 8)
With the growing interest in "What If" scenarios this models seems a logical choice to 15mm manufactures...
So maybe we see a commercially available 15mm model soon!

Well, going by the recent FoW announcement of the 'mid war monsters' I don't think it'll be too long until they start making a late war series of vehicles, too - currently it's difficult enough to find a Comet tank (QRF make one, mind you) in 15mm. Let alone a Centurion :)
