I don't know about anyone else, but that's all the excuse I need to pick up some of those handsome Flames of War minis...

That was also my reason to went 15mm recently!

15mm WW2 can get quite addictive...

Personally I would recommend FoW/Battlefront for all vehicles - but for infantry I would go for Peter Pig.

Skytrex are good if you want big packs of cheap models (and the odd vehicle that others don't make) but their detail is far lower than PP or Battlefront for infantry - and PP have a broader range of infantry than FoW.

Still trying to find a Comet or Centurion A41 in 15mm from any manufacturer, though :(

Most of my WW2 stuff is 15mm - I 've trawled all the major (and quite a few of the minor) manufacturers and they are all something of a curates egg to some degree so I wouldn't necessarily recommend one over asnother. There are some BF models that are excellent, some are dogs, but then the same is true of OG / Skytrex / Battle Honours / Stronghold etc. It really is a case of shopping around to get the model that you think suits your collection best

I don't suppose you've found any late war (or otherwise early post-war) 15mm british have you DM? :)

Most of the 15mm ranges seem to stop with Cromwells and Fireflies. Would be nice if someone did a Centurion or Comet, just for fun.

Hmm, OG has the Quality Casting Centurion:

OK, it is a Mk III upward, but IMO possible to convert...

Oooh, indeed they do. Might take a bit of work on the turret to make the 20pdr look right, and to get the polsten gun on - but could be a project.

My thought exactly, just a little bit of "old school" converting...

works has continued... :)

Just some more preview pics from the BVC (Dave and I are confident, that we can keep the February release date!):

Hi again,
The British and Commonwealth Vehicle Compendium was published last week and is again going strong at the Wargames Vault.
Thanks to everyone who bought a copy!
But I also continued to work on other projects. I worked on some US vehicles (more next week) and some Gear Krieg models.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, b/c your vehicles are awesome - AWESOME! - but your british Caunter Camo Scheme is off a bit in colors (if you care). There's tons of info about this at the FoW forums, so I won't replicate it. It's a very unusual, distinct camo style, very evocative of the Desert Rats, and worth painting correctly especially in 25mm.

Hope this is helpful.

Since I do not visit the FoW forums regularly, please repeat - I am all ears! What is "off"? Too light? Too blueish? :?:
If this is meant - I painted it deliberately this way.
I just looked up some old pics and illustrations and chose then the (IMO) appropriate colour.

Ohh, and BTW: these models are 15mm not 25mm 8)

yes, there's no blue, just a desert stone/sand shade and two olive greens, one of which fades to grey. The colors are hard to pin down, especially b/c they fade in the desert sun anyway.

The caunter scheme is also very angular in execution, and never has rounded edges. That was part of the point (no pun intended) of it, and why it is sometimes referred to as a "disruptive pattern".

Mike Starmer literally wrote the book on it, a paper booklet with complete diagrams on how it was officially supposed to be painted. Certainly in the field it wouldn't be exact, but it gives agreat set of ideas from which you can pursue your varations. I bought mine from him on the web.

Thanks; now I understand your point!
Next vehicle will be more angular. The colour can stay... let's presume it just faded to a lighter blueish colour!
But did you know the British regulations called for a more round application of the disruptive pattern on infantry walkers deployed in the North African desert? :D
(So good to design an alternate history game...)

Been awhile since I have posted anything here or been active in gaming. Life stuff! Anyways, I'm really looking forward to the American Vehicle Compendium. I will definitly pick that up! The Gear Krieg is fasninating as well. I'm thinking of using my vast Axis and Allies Miniatures collection for that game if I get into it.

I like what A.D. Publishing is putting out! It's nice to see Battlefield Evolution getting some love!

Kudos on Tread head too!

On the new US book coming out, will there be updated stats on some of the existing vehicles from the WaW book like some of the Shermans that were redone on a past S&P?

Thanks for the nice words!
Nice coincidence asking for the US book. Dave is already working on the cover.
I have a big number of models on the table to give the book the picture treatment it deserves.
And of course you can expect updated versions of the exoisting vehicles plus some more options like the M3 “Gun” Halftrack...
