Typos

Big relief for me that my PDF version has those typos corrected :D

LOVES me the PDFs. I work at a company where there are color printers galore, and as I'm a manager who's easy on his staff, who's going to blink if I print something out on the weekends.

And at home.......a $15 laminating machine bought from Wal-Mart. Just unfold it, run the color counter sheets through it, and voila. All done.

Serviceable counters for those fleets that haven't yet joined my minis collection.

"AD for the J/K/N class destryoer should be 1 instead of 4."
Are we talking about the secondary batteries here? Is this official? I'm new to these forums, and I don't really know everyone yet, so I hope my questions don't offend. I have pencil in hand, ready to make the change in my rulebook. Someone stop me if I'm making a mistake!!!

Yes, if the J/K/N information is incorrect, that has significant gameplay impacts. Can anybody verify that?
DM was one of the official playtesters, and probably wrote the stats...

I playtested too, but I don't have the files to hand.

I think I did write that one. The "4" is definitely wrong. The Tribals get 2 by virtue of their eight 4.7" guns. The J/K/N, only having six, have 1, but of course have much heavier torpedo armament.

They are talking about Royal Navy Destroyers, Tribals, J, K, and N's

I must admit at being a little underwhellmed when I got my copy of VaS. The rules are good enough, but I find it overpriced for a rather thin B&W book and flimsy cardboard counters with quite a few errors on them.

I second that emotion on the production quality of the counters
Surprised they sold out so quickly. I hoped Mongoose pulled them so they could do them correctly.

I would have really appreciated photocopy ready ship and aircraft data forms and a rules summary sheet given the price of the rulebook.

Those would be some great things to post in the VaS downloads section real soon--and a better turning gauge too! Good rules, poor tools.

If anyone wants a set of counters in the U.S. drop me a PM. I bought a second set and the one's included in the rules should suffice until I decide on which minis I want to buy.

We ran our first game last night, and noted a number of - peculiarities - that I'll address in a separate thread.

One typo our Japanese player noted, however, was the Yamato's "Agile" trait, which seems a little generous to me for a 81,000 ton battlewagon.... :)

Quite deliberate, the Yamato was noted for a good turn rate. The effect is exaggerated for game effect, but this WAS a historically recorded feature.
