Typos

Mongoose
Got my copy of Victory at Sea yesterday. It's a great set of rules that addresses several complicated issues in a very elegant and simple manner. I've got my many hundreds of 1/2400 scale ships out of the attic and am looking forward to many hours of great miniatures gaming.

There are a number of typos in the rule book as well as the counter sheets, i.e. the Yamato class battleship is listed as having 2 x 18 in. guns in each turret instead of 3 x 18 in. Does Mongoose want us to capture these typos in the forum so that they can be corrected in future printings?

Thanks for the great game!

Well it is based on ACTA rules... its traditional to have at least 3 typos per page.

It would be useful to have a list of typos, if not for Mongoose then for other players. Especially those which affect gameplay. Typos which are fluff-related, gramatical or spelling mistakes would be lower priority.

i also like my graf zepellin counter labeled the bismarck! :D

The gentleman responsible for that one was kicking himself earlier today. Well, saves us doing it for him :)

I really could care less about non-gameplay related typos. But if there is errata to the ships stats/rules it would be great to have that!

Both of the Richelieu-class aircraft carrier counters show a battleship. :?

Or course the Richelieu is a class of battleship. The French carrier is the Bearne.

Is there any chance that MG will give us a PDF maybe with the corrections on for the rule set ?

Also do we get a next set with all the ommissions in etc before we go down the road of the "what ifs" which do not appeal to me personally.

Must say I do like the rules a lot but there are lots of ships missing I would like to see before you throw a fake Montana BB my way :)

There isn't even an errata for ACTA's Armageddon yet. Hundreds of players around the world are probably playing the Vorlon Light Cruiser with hull 6, which makes it grossly overpowered.

With Hull 6, it would have twice as hits as the Hull 5 varient.

A few more counter related typos:

The plan view of the Bearn and Shokaku are actually the Illustrious.

The Essex and Yorktown share the same plan view too.

On the basis that all the other counters have the national ensign on the port bow, K Class cruiser and Graf Zeppelin (and the Bismarck carrier :D)are printed the wrong way round.

Funnily enough I only hear reports of wrong silhouettes on counters? Has no one found any real errors yet in that actual stats, am I to assume that when my set arrives later in the week it will be fundamentally bug free?

So far I haven't heard anything about the biggest typo of them all...

Top alinea on page three: "all counters have two lines printed on them, crossing in a red center dot"

I must admit at being a little underwhellmed when I got my copy of VaS. The rules are good enough, but I find it overpriced for a rather thin B&W book and flimsy cardboard counters with quite a few errors on them.

And that BF EVO preview of the ToC with the wierd printing on it... I don't know. Great games, but I'm starting to have some doubts when it comes to production etc...

Strange really, there seem to be 101 loyal fans who are willing to proof read Mongoose products for free.

But if all we have a re a few typos on counters then I am not really too bothered.

I am looking for armour 5+ that should be 6+ etc things like that which would make quite a difference.
