How would it do against the Millenium Falcon? Has anyone ever done a Traveller Version of the Millenium Falcon, by replacing the hyperdrive with an appropriate Jump Drive? The technical specs say the Millenium Falcon has a cargo capacity of 100 tons I'd say the Falcon was at least twice the size of a type S Scout/Courier, probably the closest equivalent in the Traveller Universe would be the Far Trader. (On second thought maybe its closer to a pirate's corvette) I believe the Falcon has two turrets, one on top and the other on the bottom, they fire quadruple turreted pulse lasers.

We've looked at it
The issues are:
a) Time and cost - you can have one ship done like this, perhaps two or three. But when you have 20-odd in the Core book and are adding more in supplements, it quickly gets prohibitive. After all, you want the Core book this decade, right?
b) Utility. We have run into this time and again when looking at new ways to present ships. We want them to look pretty but, at the same time, they need to be actually usable in a game. This greatly restricts what you can do.
c) Space. At the moment, we are running to two pages per ship, and that really has to be the maximum, After all, you want things other than ships in your books.
We are always looking for ways to improve (see the Core rulebook in the next update for a big revision in how ships are presented), but practicality is ever the enemy of art...
