I am also posting this on the General Rules Questions forum.
1) Is it intended that there are criticals in opposed rolls?
This seems to go against the high roll under skill wins mechanic. Or do opposed rolls ONLY determine a winner and loser without criticals? By extension are there fumbles and automatic failures?
2) Do Free Attacks use a reaction?
The rules for Riposte on the top of page 52 says a character may make a riposte if he has a reaction left to spend. The immediately following section on Free Actions (still on p. 52) does not say a Free Attack uses a reaction, but lists Riposte as a type of Free Attack.
Thanks.
