The G'Quan is pretty cool, but I was always a fan of the Vorchan. Sleek, sinister, cool.

I agree. It looks the part as a fast attack craft. It's one of the most preditory looking ships in the show.

I'm just a little disappointed that one of the recognised Minbari Warcruiser classes isn't in the game. The Drala'Fi (Black Star) was a Shargoti class Warcruiser and that class doesn't appear to be in this game. The Shargoti is supposed to be 25% larger than the standard Sharlin Warcruiser. Also the Narn Th'Nor class Light Cruiser doesn't seem to be in the game, at least not under that name.

I'm just curious as to why Mongoose hasn't used accepted canon names for some of their ship classes/variants.

just to clarify:

Shargoti name and classification is from AOG, Th`Nor/ T`Rakk has been floating about as a fan ship since before AOG.

neither name was used on the show.. Drala`Fi was mentioned only as a flagship in the series and the Narn ship was never mentioned/shown at all.

Mongoose has made a T`Rakk mini, not sure what name they use.

Mongoose has changed names for ships, see the Dilgar ships... names & roles changed completely.

whoever has the contract calls the tune unfortunately, makes things confusing for people who played previous B5 games.

Well the Shargoti was an AoG invention, there was nothing in the show to indicate that that Black Star was any different than a normal Sharlin other than in reputation.

As for Th'Norr as far as I know that's actually a fan created ship name, which does appear as the T'Rakk (in an issue of S&P).

*Edit: Damm you Jal, beat me too it...

On the subject of the Shargotti and the Black Star I seem to remember (though I could be wrong, been a while since I watched it) that in ItB it was referred to as an "Ace Cruiser", possibly suggesting it was just an ordinary Warcruiser with a crew who had got very good at blowing earth ships into very small pieces (until they sauntered into an asteroid field mined with nukes of course... serves them right the cocky b*****ds...)

I've never played AOG so I don't know what the initials stand for

It's just that the Shargoti is the designation I've seen used all across the internet.

AoG stands for Agents of Gaming, the company who made the previous B5 space battle game, B5wars.

They also designed most of the ship models currently produced by Mongoose who bought the moulds after AoG went under.

i think only about 1/4 or less of the ships in the game were ever on the shows/movies... all else was created for gaming purposes, i think Star Trek gaming is much the same.

that`s just the nature of the beast i.e. the gaming industry. :)

I think a lot less than that and thank god for people making new ones - most races would have two or three at most, now if we can just get some more Vorlon and Shadow ones...........

You know, another thought for 2nd ED would be to go a bit more like VaS (Kinda like the horse following the cart, I know  ) with separate target numbers and armor numbers for the ships. Adds one more step, but would be far easier to illustrate the differences between little ships and big ships...

Just a thought..

I was all for that myself, it was a good idea

Spot on CS

I'm not a fan of the idea of the Drala'Fi, Dusk Coutari etc being unique ships, the elite crew is a far better idea, especially since we saw both these ships and they looked like regular ships of that class

The Drala'Fi is statted up as a unique Sharlin variant in the Earth Minbari War supplement for ACTA.

well, some of the ship/varients will no doubt be, would be nice for the scenarios to be in it too.

Well - the space in the game is there; the ship trait 'Unique' has been confirmed as existing (initially for the Excalibur - being literally the only EA armageddon-priority ship outside of the black-ops shadowtech fleet)

i hope the black star and other unique sharlin variants are included

The Black Star wasnt a Sharlin variant, it was a Sharlin, with a crew variant, i.e. better crew, not better weapons.
