Traveller Vehicles?

Does anyone know where I might find stats for ground and atmospheric vehicles online done at any time in Traveller's long history?

I've googled the subject a few times but amazingly came up short. I'm hoping that someone can point me to a page or two that I've somehow missed.

Thanks!

This is a huge collection of vehicles done by Onno Meyer, one of the GURPSnet collective. These were built using the GURPS Vehicles 2nd edition rules, and contain more information than you will ever need or use. But there are all kinds of vehicles, including many Traveller ones and other historic ones. You should be able to find something here.

You could look through the collection of vehicles in the Traveller wiki, it may or may not have anything you are looking for.

And for the most blatant plug, buy my books about Traveller vehicles.

Noble Knight Games, a online store I've frequented for a number of years now, also has in stock a MegaTraveller supplement called "101 Vehicles". It contains detailed specs on all the vehicles (human and Traveller alien races) as well as an illustration of each vehicle.

The website is: http://www.nobleknight.com/ViewProducts.asp_Q_ProductLineID_E_305_A_ManufacturerID_E_77_A_CategoryID_E_12_A_GenreID_E_

They also have in stock a copy of the Starship Operator's Manual if you're interested in extreme details on how Traveller ships work in MegaTraveller. Quite a bit is portable over to MongTrav.

I would love to see Mongoose put something like the SOM for its own ship design sequence.

The Dean Files. Rob Dean was a prolific MegaTraveller craft designer. His Work continues.

Last I heard from him was in the late 1990's, when I bought his 2300 collection.

Thank you for "Through the Waves", it was a very useful addition to my
water world setting. :D

Yes, the books by Thomas Jones-Low are very well done. I bought them even after I wasn't going to play T20.

I have a question, though, if you are still around. How does one compute the acceleration of these vehicles? It looked as if you simply took 10% of the maximum speed, but there was, I believe, one variation from that theme. Is it ok to assume that a "slow" vehicle might be 5% of max speed and that a particularly fast vehicle could accelerate as much as 20% of max speed? In other words, how do you show the difference between a Corvette and a Minivan?

If you have the T20 book (p253), read the description of Standard Acceleration it is 10% of top speed. Maximum acceleration is standard acceleration times Agility.

Unfortunately, the rules never explicitly state the difference between standard and maximum acceleration, or when they can be used. If you read the vehicle combat chapter (p. 172/173), it makes a reference to standard acceleration action and a rapid acceleration action. The latter imposes a penalty for a fixed bonus to the acceleration/deceleration roll. It shouldn't be too hard to extend that for higher Agility vehicles.

Since agility is determined by excess engine power, the Corvette has some, hence an agility score, whereas the van doesn't have extra engine power, and no agility.

Well, I usually use GURPS Vehicles. But I also wrote GURPS Vehicle Builder to make the job really easy. At least for me.

Funny thing that Gurps:Vehicles in a lot of ways is yet another child of Striker, as quite a bit of it was inspired by FF&S, which inturn was inspired by Striker.

MegaTraveller, Imperial Encyclopedia. Found in "used" bins in appropriate stores for a low price.

Okay it's not comprehensive, but it's very affordable, and a good general guide to all things about the Imperium.

Contains basic vehicles with line art:
ground car
wheeled ATV
tracked ATV
open air/raft
enclosed air/raft
G-carrier
speeder

The book itself also contains Library Data, equipment, drugs, vacc suits, combat equipment, smallcraft, small starships, and other extras.
