Would this be a possible setting? The box artwork and the concept of the board game Twilight Imperium is quite interesting, but is there enough background on all the races and stuff for this to be a feasible rpg setting?
there were two versions of the RPG, I have the 1st edition knocking around somewhere if anyone is that interested. The expansions offered more reaces, and it was up to about a dozen or so by the end of the 1st edition run. Humungous map, too.
Found a used copy of it at Noble Knight Game (in case anyone was interested): http://www.nobleknight.com/ProductDetail.asp_Q_ProductID_E_10418_A_InventoryID_E_2147792739_A_ProductLineID_E_618_A_ManufacturerID_E_212_A_CategoryID_E_12_A_GenreID_E_
Fantasy Flight Games has this thread on one of their forums: http://216.139.243.236/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=34&efcid=1&efidt=158903&efpag=0
Fantasy Flight Games has re-booted the board game. Looks like they have a lot of background material with the game.
I was interested in doing something similar with the Dawning Star setting.
This would be interesting to me. I'm actually kind of using the TI3 source material for background for my own setting, but it's not really a TI3 game...
Yep. Dawning Star is more like a T9 one system setting. At the time when it came out, it was interesting, but the d20M rules were a little all over the place.
The background was interesting. I've wondered why Blue Devil stopped working on it (besides the lack of interest in d20 Future?).
