Tossing out an idea for Mongoose

Writing apps for the SFB damage allocation chart and FC damage allocation charts isn't that hard, I've done it. Didn't bother submitting them because it looks like they would not be used. I think computer play aids that let you look up stuff during play or keep track of things for you would be doable fairly cheaply. That's a one-man job, really. Writing an app for the whole game would be a much, much bigger project, even for something like First Missions.

Agreed. A simple ship tracker is all thats asked for or even really needed. Everything else elakin wants opens up too much to keep profit a factor.

Actually, what i was suggesting was little more than a simple ship tracker program. But for that to be useful, you have to have the ships in the program, correct? The primary thing I was trying to get at was to sell the *ships* that go in the program, not the program itself. But to make a bit useful without any initial cost, include a pair of ships that can be used. And when I say used, i mean used *as a ship trackcing program* when you're playing the tabletop game.

Hopefully i'm not suggesting something that makes no sense for ACTA:SF -- i'm only familiar with FC, and am basically here for the minis But with FC, having a program that's nothing more than digital ship cards that you can "write" on would be great. And if you downloaded that app for free and it came with a Fed CA and Klingon D7, ready to use with First Mission, that would also be great. And if there was a large set of other digital ships that you could then buy within the app, that'd be awsome. For a program that can do that, i'd be pretty trivial to also then have non-ship reference data (FC has cheat sheets w/ all the tables needed to play for example - have that in the program as well).

An App that did that would be worth a fair amount to me. Maybe packaged with the rules pdf? If that is do-able...
