Afternoon PST,
In MgT HG 2e the Azhanti-Class Frontier Cruiser has a TL 12 Particle Accelerator (PA) that is 6,300 tons and is MCr1,100.
Here is how I think the TL 12 PA spinal mount was designed using MgT
Starting with the PA spinal mount available at TL 11 has a base size of 3,500 tons requires Power 1,000, has a damage factor of 1DD, and costs MCr1,000.
For every multiple of the Base size the spinal mount increases Damage, Power consumption, and cost by the amount shown.
A TL 11 7,000 ton PA spinal mount is 7,000/3,500 = 2. The TL 11 7,000 ton PA spinal mount requires Power of 2 x 1000 = 2,000, Damage of 2 x 1DD = 2DD at a cost of 2 x MCr1,000 = MCr2,000.
Using an Improved TL 12 Particle Accelerator Spinal mount the base tons decrease by 10% and the base cost increases by 10%.
At TL 12 the base size of a TL decreases from 3,500 tons to 3,500 x -0.1 = -350 = 3,500 - 350 = 3,150 tons and the cost increases from MCr1,000 to MCr1,000 x 0.1= 100 = MCr1,000 + 100 = MCr1,100.
A TL 12 6,300 ton PA spinal mount is 6,300/3,150 = 2. The TL 12 6,300 ton PA spinal mount requires Power of 2 x 1000 = 2,000, Damage of 2 x 1DD = 2DD at a cost of 2 x MCr1,100 = MCr2,200.
Have I got the instructions right for (1) figuring out the power, damage, and cost requires when increasing a spinal mounts size and (2) using the spinal mount's improvement option?
