Things you'd like to see in supplements or later releases

Heya Mongoose! First of all, thanks for putting out this new RPG! It's a dream come true, not just for me as a Lone Wolf fan, but also as a GM! As you can see in other threads, I've jumped into the game with both feet (and some elbows, too) and am very much in support of it.

I thought I'd start a general "things we'd like to see" for your perusal as you consider upcoming supplements and new releases. As a side note, I'd be happy to contribute to any of these releases for credit and, if you're offering, payment. I do a lot of work in the Lone Wolf community (and many can attest) and it's always fun to be a part of the new wave of material coming out!

Similarly, if any of the fans are interested in helping out, I'd be fine with starting threads for the following supplements here on Mongoose... sort've online encyclopedias that GMs could reference.

Things I'd like to see

A Bestiary
For me, this is the most crucial release I can think of. The rules of the new RPG make it so easy to put together a beastiary that I wonder if we should just start it as a fan project and see what happens. The gamebooks are filled with encounters and stats for those encounters, as well as special rules for same, so it wouldn't be too hard to do, especially with the help of Project Aon flowcharts, which clearly list all combats.

A Gazetteer
Much like what was included in the original RPG, a gazetteer of all the myriad cities and states would be incredibly helpful, especially for those who don't have the books or a history with them. Brief ideas for adventures set in these areas would be a nice addition, too.

An item list
A book that just contained an A-Z of items you could throw into your world's apothecaries, armouries, and ancient ruins would be great. I have no trouble coming up with stuff to fill campaigns, but it would be nice to have a book to just look through or reference items.

It has already been confirmed that books 4 and 5 are a Bestiary and a Sommerlund Gazetteer.

Also, Matt Sprange has confirmed on these boards that we won't be getting an equipment book given the system, and I think he's dead right.

I'd like to see Equipment, not in it's own book but included in the books, along with descriptions, we haven't even finished updating Characters from my version to the Canon and where already having arguments over if Broadswords are One Handed, Hand & a Half or Two Handed Weapons.

Over a Century of each Gaming, Recreation Experience (one player is a Master at Arms at the local Sword School) and half a Century of Formal History Education (an other Majored in History back in the day), without "The Word" from the Writers I don't expect things to end quietly any time soon.

Heroes of Magnamund has an extensive equipment chapter. It doesn't have much infor on SPECIAL ITEMS however.

so about three Months (four for me though), Fan-Frigin-tastic, oho well Eventually is better than never.

Looks like I'll be scouring my Game Books then Cut & Past from the Aon files to fill the gaps in the mean time, now how do I settle a dispute between An Assistant Sword Instructor and a Volunteer Curator of Weapons at their local Medieval History Museum on what type of Historical Broadsword best represents the Broadsword used by the Lastlanders?

Uh, why not? I know Lone Wolf equipment isn't exhaustive, but there's plenty of items that would be good to see, like those berries that let you breath underwater, or Calacene (sp?) which causes hallucinations, or Rendalim's Elixer, or Oede, or Fireseeds, or Firespheres, or... etc. etc. etc.

Plus, there's still room for other items, like poison and disease removers and more powerful CS boosters, or even items that heighten a discipline for a short time (one test).

From the gamebooks, I always imagined Broadswords as hand and a half swords - since there is no difference between them and regular swords mechanically, however, i will assume you can use them in one hand. There is mentioned in the latest Signs and portents, a two handed sword that grants +1 CS, due to its size. So i may rule that used in two hands, a broadsword could get the same Bonus. (slightly worse off than using a shield, but then you dont have to buy that)

I agree LW has interesting items but I would not want to see a whole book on them. I would prefer to see them placed in other supplements where appropriate.

Why? Then you have to flip through several different books to put together your shops.

True but I don't consider there enough material for an entire book. As such, if anything is better scattered, this would it.

That's fair. I still hope they compile it, though.
