The Warmonger-Class Battle Tender

Here is my 1M dTon version; I am still tweaking it a bit. Should carry 60x Hadrians at J-4, and 460x Hadrians at J-1. Comes in at a bit less than a Tera-Credit; Hadrians sold separately, offer void where prohibited, some house rules may apply.

Be advised the calculations for fuel are for the base tonnage, not adjusted. It doesn't seem to change even when you add ridiculous amounts of added mass. I've passed that on and he is looking at it. Still, damn.

By putting the jump fuel in a drop tank (that we generally don't drop) we can do J-4 with the tank or J-6 by dropping the tank.
No Decreased Fuel since we want to be able to do J-6 occasionally.

Unrelated, but the Hadrian as written is 2000 dTons over. Is there an Errata?

[Edit: It is possible to get all the systems to fit, and with extra room to spare, by using advantages for 'smaller equipment' & trimming back the powerplant. This ends up looking like the numbers in the 2022 High Guard Update, though /Edit]

Got it to 17 battle riders. Dropped the thrust to 2. Using full power minus maneuvering and no batteries, though.

Okay, I fixed the spreadsheet in the recommended way, then revised the design a bit. Now it carries 17x 50k dTon riders J-4; 29x riders J-3; 54x riders J-2; and up to 128x 50k dTon riders at J-1. Still has 11044 dTons of cargo.

Some other things to consider.

While technically within the rules I have a problem with any ship of a 1M DT attempting to skim a gas giant, or attempt a water landing to wilderness re-fuel (personally I cut the line at 5000DT but that is a different discussion).
Also without a launch tube or a recovery deck those fighters are of no use in screening a hot entry or retreat.
At 1M DT, the ship would consume 10,000 SU per day or 100 Dt per day of supplies - Per pg53 of HG2022 capital ships carry 100 days worth of supplies which would be 10,000DT.
Replacing some of the Laser/Sandcaster turrets with Point defense batteries may reduce the number of Gunners needed - or allow some turrets to become Fusion Turrets/barbettes which can supply a more effective fighter defense.
A force size of 16 Hadrians gives us 4 Squadrons of 4 Battleriders which is a nice round number.
A Second Bridge acting as flight operations, and a dedicated command bridge might be something to consider if the ship was to operate as a fleet command for an Admiral (or three)

But I really like the thought you have placed into the design, and any attempt to design a ship of this scale is not going to please everyone.

I presume the Imperum has a logistics ship of similar bulk that Jumps alongside the Hadrians/Warmonger to carry re-supply of the Hadrian's missiles and other systems. It would be interesting to see what that looks like.

There is the Duamu-Class Heavy Logistics Ship (1,000,000 tons) in War Fleets of the Fifth Frontier War.

Just use a Warmonger carrying 50000 Dt cargo boxes?

I don't see this ship wilderness refueling, but as the rules allow for it to skim, I'll build it that way.

Good point. I'll add one. The Tigress has 300 heavy fighters and three launch tubes, so I figure one will be good enough.

Good point. I'll drop the riders carried to 16 (as you mention later) and get the space to do this.

I'll see what I can manage there.

As above, good point. They should call them HadRons, ;)

Also a good point. I'll make that happen.

Thank you.

Someone already mentioned the one we know about. Not sure it's the best design, but it's what the Navy has.
