Voyager 1 has officially passed beyond the edge of the solar system and is now the first man-made spacecraft in the history of the universe to travel in deep space. And we are alive to see it! Yay, us!

Congratulations, NASA!

I await the day an alien starship comes to Earth and the inhabitants emerge with Voyager saying "Did you lose this?".

But it may be bad when it returns as V-Ger and scans the klingons.
Yeah, but then it will have at least learned Klingon by the time it gets back. And it'll have met the Borg, too, on its long journey home from the Delta Quadrant.

It used to be that the Galaxy was devided in 24 Sectors and the Game was set in the Alpha-Delta Sector slice.

The Quadrants came much later.

Voyager 1, the little probe that could.

oops!
I just read this post. I posted my own earlier today not realizing this feat of engineering and the need to explore had already been celebrated on the Traveller boards.
Hurray for Humaniti! :)
