The Temptress

Who created the Temptress class?

I'll admit, when I first eyeballed the class, I rolled my eyes. It didn't make sense to me to make that type of character a whole class. I mean, can't a noblewoman be a temptress? Or, a female anything?

So, I was turned off by the class and didn't read much about it (with so much other Conan stuff to read).

Today, I gave the class a closer look, and I've come around 180 degrees. I mean, the class is brilliant! In a world dominated by men, where, in many kingdoms women are considered property, it makes so much sense to give women their own class!

Upon closer inspection, I guess you could say that "I got it".

I know that men can be tempters, too, but it is only women that can use the class as a "favored" class.

It's downright brilliant. And, I think it's unique to Conan, too.

Clap, clap. Very good job.

Just to play the devil's advocate again, I don't really like this class. Although it might be a nice NPC class (this how I use it, actually), I don't find it suited to my style of Conan campaigning.

As for Vincent, I guess we all miss his work dearly. I hope his work on Solomon Kane will get published soon.

I find that the Conan classes go off in very specific direction. The noble. The scholar (which can be turned into a priest or a sorcerer). The soldier. The thief.

All of these, I think, are very well chosen. And, I think the temptress fits right in. Why? Because this is a game dominated by male characters. But, there are a few women out there who are key in shaking things up (as many of the Conan stories show). These are "special" women who are bucking the trend and have become powerful, usually threw shrewd means.

Thus, the temptress. I do think its brilliant.

More like a scholar or noble or even a thief rather than a soldier or borderer.

Why is it, exactly, that Vincent will no longer be working with Mongoose?

Not likely to happen at this point.

Damn. I was hoping you were the author of Solomon Kane: Traveller's Tales
