Telmori - confused!

Can Telmori transform themselves into wolves at will?

I understand that:

1)'Cursed ones' involuntarily turn into wolves every Wildday
2) That Shamanic magic of the Telmori can allow them to adopt beast form, or other wolf-related manifestations.

However, the new Glorantha 2nd age is not clear that Hsunchen can (without spirit or other magic) transform into their related beast.

Will Hsunchen be detailed in races of Glorantha?

I think you have misunderstood something.

Pure Telmori cannot as a rule transform themselves into wolves (and the same is true for the other Hsunchen). All adult Telmori (like all hsunchen) can take on some of the physical features of their totem animal (a wolf in the Telmori case). Only the more powerful, the Telmori heroes, can transform fully into a wolf. *

This is well modeled by spirit magic.

Also have you read the Telmori's Forest web page at http://www.telmori.com/ ? Lots of good stuff there if you are doing stuff with Telmori. From the "How We Use Death" section it reads "the warriors will pray now to Telmor aloud that he may grant them his skin. Feel the magic of Telmor, he is near…"

You might be thinking of Wolfbrothers... which were in earlier editions (I'm thinking of RQ1 & RQ2) actual werewolves cursed by Saint Talor, who turned a Nysaloran blessing of invulnerability to non-magical weapons into a curse.

There is a bit of possible fuzzy overlap over their relation to mainstream Telmori Hsunchen.

In all honesty I never worked it out myself.

The "Cursed Ones" who turn into werewolves on wildday are the Telmori cursed by Saint Talor. These cursed Telmori migrate from Dorastor to Dragon Pass, where Prince Sartar incorporates them into the kingdom of Sartar after promising to use his Change magic to help them break the curse
