Telekenisis, Hidden Death, and Sneak Attack Range

Thieves cannot use sneak attack beyond 30 feet because they cannot attack with deadly precision due to the range.

Telekenisis is stated to have increased accuracy, Great telekenisis even more so (and also allows Hidden Death with synergises with Sneak Attack very well). It also ignores all range penalties.

So for a Scholar/Rogue using Greater Telekenisis, Hidden Death, and Sneak Attack, with 2 telekinetic daggers, what would a realistic new Sneak Attack range be? 60 feet? 120 feet? Maximum spell range?

Hmm...how fast can your chosen sneak attack implement fly that far?

What kind of range penalties are you looking at?

I guess it would all boil down to DM's discretion.

Part of the problem with ranged sneak attacks is the accuracy issue, but there are other factors as well.

Velocity is one.

Consider also that for most people at a distance of thirty feet, finding a gap in armor or exposed artery is going to be much more difficult visually than at point blank range.

Even an archer with 20/20 vision (and most people don't have this... and there are no corrective vision devices) cannot hope to be as accurate as a surgeon. And bloody pseudo-surgery striking the most vulnerable parts is exactly what sneak attacks represent.

I say if the GM rules that Telekinesis can be used for sneak attacks at all, that the player should just be grateful. It takes so much concentration (it requires a concentration check to avoid an AOO in melee) to cast the spell, focusing on exact hit location still seems like a stretch.

But... in one of the books there is a feat (or ability?) that allows someone to extend all 30 foot attack abilities to 60 feet. This includes using finesse ranged attacks to get around armor, sneak attacks, etc.

IIRC, one can take it time and again to continue extending the range in 30ft increments.

Telekinesis seems to be an appropriate use of that ability.
