Stealth Reduction within 8"?

Hi all! I have seen several threads where people have mentioned Stealth being reduced by 1 if you are within 8". I cant seem to find that in my book. Is that a new rule or I am just reading the threads wrong?

Do Stealth ships still get +1 to their stealth if I am further away than 10"?

That particular rule is in Armageddon. Stealth is now increased by 1 over 20".

Stealth is probalby one of the most modified rules over the course of 1st edition.
