State of the Mongoose 2025

One option, that would take away too many resources, and considering the requisite artwork requirements, is to have a Collectible Card Game offshoot.
There was… I backed the Kickstarter and was super-psyched…

The art? Fantastic and evocative.
The quality? Very well done, cards feel great in the hand, additional components like tokens are well done.
The rules? Completely different than Traveller, doesn’t feel like Traveller at all. Also a very complicated turn sequence that doesn’t feel intuitive at all. The fluff text on the cards seems to actively avoid common Traveller tropes. And the use of counter-intuitive icons in the rules means you have to constantly look up what the symbol means - why not just print the word as well?

Clunky and slow gameplay and winning feels like a slog - like “whew, that’s done” instead of “heck yeah!”

Anyway, big fail.
