Starship Troopers are people still playing ???

ok, i may get a slap for this but it has many thoughts behind it.

is thier interest out there for Starship trooper minis ?

now i was pretty fortunate when SST was originaly released i was blessed with a GF who let me spend like crazy on my hobby, and i ammased a large amount of minis !!!!

is their still interest in this game, i have possably for sale some sprite conversions unpainted..

about 50+ warrior bugs a plasma bug 2 tanker bugs hoppers, anything else you can add bug to, my bug conversions i did

quite possably stuff still on sprues, now rather than just chuck it on ebay, and waist insertion fees, id like to know if there are peeps out there still playing this game ?

if there are any old conversions you remeber i did and you fancy owning let me know...

any way just sorta putting feelers out to see if there is any demand for SST stuff, also if there is anything your after let me know and il see if i can source it for you....

i will probably keep my skinnie force..

I haven't played in well over a year. When Mongoose had the big announcement every store had a blow out sale on the minis and I bought as much as I could find. I still have at least a dozen unopened boxes in storage.

I still play - ran a game at a small convention back in June. I've been amassing lots of stuff over the years and the 'fire sale' at Origins filled in most of the gaps in the collection.

After that, we played a game at our FLGS using the WOTS rules - which made for a very entertaining game. The changes to the bugs gave them more bite and make the MI a very different force to play. Not touched the Skinnie lists, but my 96 Raiders are creeping towards completion.

I have no plans to stop playing and if I find a deal on some of the OOP stuff I might want, I'll pick it up.

I'm still playing occasionally. still looking for some exosuits(2 boxes of each). i didn't have any money when all the online stores were discounting, and the stores around here never stocked it to any degree.

So whats the official go with SST? I am not on the net much and I dont know what the BIG annoucement was. I still have a shed load of SST miniatures and a couple of the books and I am wondering if they are worth hanging on to firstly and secondly if there is any chance of getting hold of old stock? Is Andy Chambers still about on the team or has he disapeared ? Will there be a SST evolution or was that all just a pie in the sky plan and does Mongoose even have the licence anymore ?

The big announcement was that Mongoose planned to move into prepainted miniatures, and there was to be a new version of SST compatible with Battlefield Evolution.

The prepainted BFE miniatures didn't work out. There were wranglings in Hollywood over the SST movie rights, which prevented Mongoose from producing anything.

For various reasons, Mongoose ended their miniatures production. They produced new games in the Battlefied Evo line as rulebooks only. They did announce they planned to release a free SST add-on for these. They put playtest rules on the net, but apparently there was not sufficient interest.

The RPG was cancelled, with plans to produce a new Traveller compatible version, but there has been no mention of this recently.

Mongoose produced one graphic novel. That was subsequently picked up by Markosia, and has become an ongoing comic.

Mongoose did announce their licence had been extended after the complications in Hollywood. That was a while ago.

I still play,

I am now finishing my forces, since I had stopped buying models in anticipation of the pre-paints.

I am now getting all the models that I missed out on.

There are six of us who play, and we do so about once a month.

My opinion (for what its worth)
It would be good if Mongoose would continue to support the product out there with bits and pieces here and there and a regular (once every couple of months) update on what is happening with the line. Just because they are not producing new figures is no reason to not continue support for the line in the form of articles and forums. They may find that they have a lot more player interest if there was something happening.
Throw a pebble in the water to make a big wave 8)

well with a heavy heart i have a few depts to clear, so i have deided to sell a huge amount of minis over the next few weeks.

Starship troopers are up tonight including exo suits.

nows the time to grab some as once there gone they are gone as i can no longer paint minis due to RSI in my hands.
