Three of the four alchemical elements correspond to states: air is gaseous, earth is solid and water is liquid. Is thus fire only a disruption created by Mephisto to mislead science or a medium to transcend these states?

Actually, fire is also a state of matter; it represents 'plasma' which is neither solid, liquid, nor gaseous. One has to wonder, though, how the prescientific Greeks arrived at this conclusion...

Your ascertainment is scientific and concern chimy. What I want to put in evidence is alchemia where chimy alone isn't sufficient (else gold wouldn't have such a value).
I don't believe anyone can progress far with rationalism alone.

Mongoose Star Trek, hmm could be an interesting fit to Traveller rules, and good timing with the success of the new movie and the MMORPG Star Trek Online launching in Feb 2010 !!

Sounds good to me but would the licence would cost a fortune I guess

I would certainly buy it !

May be but if Last Unicorn could afford it before being dismembered by the Wizards I doubt the Mongoose can't buy it.

A big licence in hollywood (star trek) = RPG+Space Cbt game+ skirmish game :D
space combat and skirmish already exist from Amarillo (with a quantity of modules), so competition would be hard in this field.

I also hope that Mongoose acquires the rights for a ST rpg. With Cubicle 7 getting the rights to make a new Lord of the Rings game it makes sense for them to try and get ST instead imo.

Where is the relationship between Lord of the Rings and Star Trek now? Decipher used indeed the same game system for these licences but I think they'll follow now a separate path.

Well, there's maybe not a relationship per se, but both licenses are on the market (well LotR no longer...) :)

I'd like to see a new Trek game sooner than later!

I was digging the Star Trek.com site and i think the license for a STAR TREK RPG is up for grabs. Steve Jackson Games and Starfleet Games have their own "Side Bar Trek" System Prime Directive, but according to the Star Trek Web site the License is currently up for grabs, and they seem to be eager to see a STAR TREK RPG. But i think it will be the JJ Abrahms Star trek Universe not classic trek.
