Star Fleet Rulebook PDF

Personally I think that sets a dangerous precedent for differences between book and pdf other than error fixes.

LBH

Much as it pains me to agree with LBH :D , i'm not sure if this is such a great idea. THE PDF release of the rulebook should absolutely include all erratta to date, without question. Should new rules be stuck in there...? No. I think the PDF release of the rulebook should be just that, no more no less. There is a danger of confusion over which set of rules are official and which are not. Player A turns up at a tournament..he has the printed rulebook only. Player B turns up and he has a printed out copy of the PDF with the added rules. Right there you have grounds for conflict and disagreement. At least by leaving the rules in the Journal, or in Book 2, then it is clear that they are an addition to the core rule set.

Tournament rules ought to make it clear whether scouts are used or not...

If they are used player A should be aware there are scout rules and get them in one way or another.

What's the difference between this and player B turning up with same rules from journal? They are still exact same rules! Only difference was player B now had to print out from 2 files(which doesn't necessarily even show up on the prints...They could easily be identical looking!) rather than 1.

Big difference to player A what happened in the background. In both cases if he doesn't even know what rules are used in tournament he's going to be looking at unknown rules.

The solution is to include the scout rules for the tournament in the tournament pack. Everyone taking part in the tournament will have downloaded the tournament pack.

Simples.

Eh. Doubtful tournament organisers can do that legally. Might be asking for trouble there. You don't go around printing rulebook on tournament pack either ;)

I meant the Mongoose tournament.

For tournaments without official support from Mongoose or ADB you might have to just ban scouts for now.

Do we have any idea exactly how we are going to prove we have a rule book? Just wondering so I can be prepared.

A photo of you with it in a compromising position.

Don't worry if you haven't taken one, I'm sure Matt has one in his collection.

Not sure about that but I am certain that if they keep putting out such cool looking minis they will end up with the blood of my first born and deed to my house :D

Admittedly I was going to stick to Fed and Klingons.

Then I got the Romulan squadron box.

And pre-ordered the Gorn Fleet box and Romulan reinforcements box.

And I'll get the Klingon/Orion box.

And I'll trade the Kzinti I get in the mixed squadron boxes for more Tholians.

So 4 major fleets and two minor fleets (for now, when squadron boxes come out for them they won't be so minor as they'll be hitting 1500-2k).

The last checks are being carried out right now - should not be too long now.

The good news is that it will be coming. :D

The bad news is that what with the sun burning out in a couple of million/billion years, I'll have to read it in the dark. :P
