Stands for the ships

I want a little heaver stand for my ships. I looked at the ones you can buy but that can add up. What are some of the ideas everyone has had on the stands that they use? Also do I have to have 6 fighters on a base? I think 3 fighters per base would look a lot better.

Well, you can always glue largish washers to the bottom of your current stands.

i used to do this with my 40K figures id buy a pack of lead fishing weights in bulk for like a buck then hammer them flat and glue them to the base

Our group used brass tubing, with the standard bases that came with them. We used a fractionally smaller one on the mini itself so they could seperate. I believe we picked those up at hobbytown, here in the states.

You can glue any number of fighters you wish to their bases, there is no compulsary number.

I never glue my ships to the base far harder to transport.

You can make the stand heavier by glueing a 2p (or your local currency) to the bottom.

I go for the steel washers... get them as heavy as you need for balance. Also, with sheet magnet on the bottom of the storage box it eases storage and carrying.
