SST:E Scale

Mongoose
Just curious if SST:E will be the same scale as now, or will it be moving to the BF:E 28mm scale? At the initial SST:E announcement, all the current figures were to be usable. From what I have read/seen, the rules should not matter as to either scale, but I want to confirm my current figures will be in scale with new ones.

We were told that they'd fit in with the existing scale of the minatures... But to be honest we'll have to wait and see :?

Im fairly certain Mongoose wouldn't be stupid enough to alienate the existing customer base though (But you can't really bar some factory mishap it would seem...)

hell man if they did that there would be voodoo dolls out

They could very well be a bit smaller than the original SST stuff, but hopefully not by much.

Making the minis smaller would save a lot of money in terms of production.

Also it wouldn't harm the game to have smaller figures because the game is pretty large scale at times. Big units like the tanker and plasma bug, even the vehicles would look bigger larger in comparison.

Of course, it'd still be a problem, but not much of one considering the measurements are based on the center of a model.

aye but it would tick those players off with a large army, specially when armys pop up that are smaller than their figs

I was mostly concerned with adding units to my army. I'd hate to have a mixed-scale troopers :P

I agree, the upside was supposed to be that we could use the prepaint to get round painting masses of rank and file. If the scale is mixed it'll look pretty stupid. Here's awesome generation 1 nicely painted LT. Wonker and his squad of umpa lumpas....Umm no thanks

Well I think people are panicking over bit too much :D Just because BF:evo has more realistic scaled models does not mean SST models are going to go smaller. The two ARE afterall different games even if they share rules...

the prepainted sst figs ive seen are the same scale and casts as the current ye oldy gap's (glue and paints) so stop panicking.

without evidence dont worry.

I always somewhat suspected that the prepainted SST figs we were shown WERE the old metal figs sent over to china for a paint job...
Doesn't make sense financialy to produce a prototype that far in advance of the release when you have models sitting around anyway.

Wasn't meaning to start a panic, just wanted to double check before I bought some more SST stuff. I was kind of hoping to be able to use LAMI models as USMC or the Euro Trade Federation though.
