Squadron boxes good for demos?

I was thinking of getting some Feds, Klingons, and Romulans for demo games at our LGS. Given the cost of the minis and such, would the squadron boxes be a viable and economic way of getting some small, reasonably balanced demo forces together? Do the squadron boxes come with somewhat equal points and equivalent ships? Thanks!

Chris

The Klingon and Federation squadron boxes come with approximately the same ship types.

Feds:
DNG
BCH
CA
OCL
FF

Klingons:
C8
C7
D7
D6
F5

As long as you just play them against each other should eb ok - but they are not really a great selection of ships from a ACTA point of view - more set up fro the older ADB games.

I think/hope that, like with the "Fleet" box, we will eventually see ACTA themed squadron boxes.

Cruiser/escort squadrons rather than a hodgepodge and a Dreadnought would be good.

What about the Romulan squadron box? How would it fare against the Klingon or Fed boxes?

I agree that I would like to see better themed boxes, because you always need more smaller ships than the huge monsters they give you in the fleet or squadron boxes. I remember that from B5.

Preey much the same I think would apply - Dreadnoughts are not bad - the Fleet box is a sensible place to find one.

for ACTA - A Dreadnought in most squadron boxes is not.
