Spinward Encounters

OddjobXL

Mongoose
Just came in via my friendly UPS guy.

Haven't really had a chance to do more than crack it yet. The page it opened to was a Patron Encounter (the book is split between PEs and Amber Zone mini adventures all set in the Spinward Marches). What tickled me was the mention of a little village called Shek Pvar.

Easter Egg? That has to be a reference to Harn! I'll bet if there's one tucked away there will be more.

Yes, it is. The Ancient and Esoteric Orders of the Shek-Pvar are the mages of Harn and the rest of Kethira.

Shek-Pvar

all new patron encounters and amber zones - no old CT stuff or S&P articles.

As for Shek Pavr. I used it for the name of a village in my AD&D characters domain. It just sounded good. No idea it came from Harn. It got reused in the encounters cause it was a good name :)

Cheers
Richard

I await this & Aliens: Zhodani on DTRPG as there is no FLGS within decent driving range worth the gas expenditure currently.

As for the adventures and such within it...
All brand new stuff.

with Richard's permission:

We hoped (those of us on the assembled contributing team) to bring to light some of those out-of-the-way places in each subsector of the Spinward Marches, and paint a clearer picture of some worlds than existed before...oh yeah, you can roll dice and go shoot & blow stuff up too!

Cool, and Especially ironic for me since I am considering placing Harn into MTU and tying together the Earthmasters/Ancients.

Just got my mitts on a copy, AWESOME

my only gripe is that there isn't any interior art, that would have been very cool, other than that, LOVE IT

And the cover looks strangely familiar too

Jesus H. Ch...you are involved in this venture...!!!!

***Damn, that is now triple the reasons that I have to get my paws on it. Liam and co. you guys have a great grasp of Traveller and can't wait until Field Manual gets into deadtree.

I loved your TNE adventures...so if your hands are on this one...must have...can't wait...maybe in next couple of weeks post.***

***This is where one needs a spoiler tag.

***Spoiler tag: I was but one of six who contributed stories/ adventures, Patron encounters/ mini-Amber zones for this project. Richard was in charge of the lot of us, and gets MAJOR kudos for cat-herding us all towards the finish line. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

If you familiar with his style and mine (in writing) then you will no doubt pick out as you read, who wrote what. 8)

Thank you once again for the high praise, Mssr Kafka!

Liam

we have styles??? Thought it was random scriblings :)

Yes. Spinward Encounters brought to you by the team that did TNE adventures: Operation Dominoes, Gilded Lilly Pts 2 & 3, and the Freedom League Sourcebook + new member Alan :)

Cheers

Congrats on the new member. Does Spica/ComStar plan on getting into the deadtree business...

The way I hear'd it from Gruffty, it was a "print-on-order" book. Ya gots to take that meaning up with him...I just work for the man. :)
