May I urge you to put links on your website somewhere obvious for people to go to Lulu for print versions of your products that are available via them rather than direct from you?
Thanks for the feedback, FreeTrav.
The only time customers have to order direct from
Spica Publishing is when we offer print editions of our new book(s) for a limited period (as we did for
Career Book 1 and the
Nemesis Class Pursuit Ship books). The overall idea is that, by ordering a print copy of the book direct from
Spica Publishing before the deadline date, you get a much better deal for your money:
a) a cheaper book
b) nice freebies included in the box with your book
c) a free pdf of the book.
The more books we order to be printed, the lower the cost to print per book is, and we pass that reduced cost on to the customer via a reduced price at the time of purchase.
The books are delivered in one batch to
Spica Publishing and we put our local friendly Hiver to work, putting the books, dice and receipts into the book boxes and sticking on the mailing labels. There is no way we can put things like the free dice into each bookbox if the books are ordered from direct our Lulu store by customers, as the books are never delivered to
Spica Publishing - they are printed by Lulu then sent straight to the ordering customer.
Career Book 2 will still be available from our Lulu store from 28 September 2009 onwards, but at an increased price, and without the nice freebie dice, and without the free pdf eVoucher.
But - yes - it is remiss of us not to include a link to our Lulu store on our website. Thanks for spotting that, FreeTrav - we'll rectify that issue as soon as we can.
