Spell Progression

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but I cannot find it.

when are sorcerers supposed to gain new spells? Not just advanced spells? Just a regular spell? What is the progression rate for that?

I feel like I may be missing something. Help is greatly appreciated.

Each time the sorcerer gains a new sorcery style, he gains he basic spell for that style.
Without checking, I think most styles have only one basic spell.

Any spell in a sorcery style beyond the basic spell and the very first defensive blast count as advanced spells.
