Soo, it's April...

copters tend to V-tol so can be hit by ground pounder weapons, evan a tanks main gun, if they fo highter to loiter then you just use your tank AA guns.

i think a brit themed force is gonna get the raw end of the stick here as they concentrate on all EU so a themed force will have huge holes :( that said the german will have a great force from the get once heli and inf section comes out for them although i think is the french version of the tiger comming out and not the german but hell its good enough.

I plan on picking up 4 of those MEA tanks! Been wanting them wave 1 was first released. A couple of MEA leaders and Snipers too. I might get a couple of USMC helis, but I want to see how powerful they are in the game first. Pack of stingers are on my wish list.

LYnx an Leopard are possibles for my South American Army, along with the PLA snipers.

Anyone else seriously scared that the EFTF now how have very bad ass tanks this early?

I mean people complain about EFTF lack of AT, but they've certainly got al ot of tanks already, I don't want to see them with even more infantry based AT until my PLA get something of their own.

My poor Type 99s, they've become rolling coffins.

yup pla type 99 is way underpowered and over costed, not worth packing them in a game till the 4k mark i say. everything in the pla force doesnt seem worth its points value :( shame as i was so stoked on collecting them big big big time.

i didnt exspect ti to be amazing but atleast balanced in the points value department, they may as well put the type 99 at 7million points, as 350 makes it just as unusable and not balanced.

just hope that the pla get some weird rule that allow you to buy one get a second or more at 25% less, to represent there mass use and closer to true points value.

lol i have had plenty of games thanks but do the maths on th infantry alone ther are drasticly overvalued.

im hoping the FAV will slightly redress the ballance with the pla copter, we shall see.

F**k the points values, and set up scenario based games instead.

true but then many scenarion games are points driven for ease and flow.

also BF-EVO is suposed to be a pick up game.

so far my only concern is the over value in points of the PLA

Have to agree on this one. I did 2 seperate demos of equal points this weekend. EFTF 2 squads vs. PLA 2 squads with the second one missing section 3 to balance the points perfectly.

The PLA got waxed by the EFTF Minimis before they ever got their LAW rockets in range.

1st demo had a more experienced tactician in charge of the EFTF, but the PLA player had a huge leg up in knowledge of rules of the game. PLA destroyed only 1 model of the EFTF. (Some of this can be blamed by one early tactical error and some on a bad attack roll when EFTF ran into the open, but the disparity was still noteworthy).

2nd demo had two equally matched opponents who neither one had played BFEvo before. EFTF lost one section that foolishly ran into the open. EFTF lost one other man in cover on a lucky dice roll. The PLA player made great use of cover and attempted to close within range of his weapons only to be churned into hamburger by the "Readied" Minimi's of the EFTF. The EFTF run in the open on turn one was the only tactical error made by either player in this entire game, and he paid for it with their lives.

Both games were over in less than 4 turns. The only mistake made in the second game by the PLA player was in choosing the PLA as his army. Perhaps in really dense terrain the PLA can overcome their lack of range and armor. I just got my buildings Saturday, so I'll let you know if it bears out any differently next weekend.

apparently the cost so much because you can split them into 3 fire teams, trouble is the fire teams are so small they become totaly inefective and pointless.

works out from playing all pla stuff so far wave 1 and 2 is 25% over costed on average.

give pla 25% extra and no matter who your players your find a more balanced game.

cure could be to in army list do buy one get a second half price.

ie you buy 2 pla units you get 2 extra pla units at half cost buy a pla type 99 and get the second at half cost, this would promote the larger armies as well then ans things being doubled up on, if you whant just one type 99 then you pay the premuim cost

I've got to say the only thing that I have seen pasted by a type 99 and in fact by the PLA has been an MEA army that I was commanding. The MEA force was purely infantry and simply could not compete with the firepower that the Type 99 could bring to bear. Out of about 9 models in the PLA army I took out two PLA infantry (they were hiding at the back of the board in a building) and put three hits on one type 99. Against infantry and light vehicles the type 99 will be great. In larger battles it may be able to deal with some MBTs but against MBTs it is all but useless.

Wave two should provide more capabilities for the PLA and make them more resiliant. Remeber that the FAVs are on their way too and they will really chew through enemy infantry.

On the whole Leopard Tank...the point of the EFTF is to have the armour capability. Otherwise they would be another USMC force.

Yep. Hard to believe that in the future the USMC or the British Army will have no man portable anti-tank weapons...

You don't really need it if you actually have cobras and shadows in support. You're trying to minimise weight on your infantry.

Still, adding a few LAW's or whatever isnt a staggering weight, is harder to destroy for enemy AT or AA, and if nothing else, greatly benefits the morale of the infantry in question.

Now, why do you think we have a limited number of releases for each army? Go on, give it a go. Then think why we do not release the same type of unit for each army at the same time.

Yes, gameplay over realism....

Course, you origionally stated it was because the research guys didn't find any hints that the Marines were going to deploy their squads in the furture with Anti Tank gear.
