Sommerlund Supplement

Just as a note from one Mongoosian about another, this book is pretty darned excellent. I can't recommend it enough. Even if your campaigns are not set in or around Sommerlund, there's a lot of mineable yummy bits in here!

Go get it. NOW. :)

Are those all the maps?, if so once again Southern Sommerlund is missing again, and when my LW campaign started up again I was planing on setting it against a 5050 era Vassa & Stornlands wars theme.

Edit: Ain't I a Picky Bastard, I get what looks to be a Legendary product, and still expect a Epic one.

You could always ask to see if Matt has plans to comission a map of Southern Sommerlund. I know this particular cartographer personally ;)

I received it today: it is simply fantastic. One of the best lone wolf sourcebooks ever released in my view, with an incredible amount of novel information (historical, geographical, political, cultural) about the cities and countries of Sommerlund. A must! Even the complete list of all monarchs of Sommerlund is given! I've also greatly appreciated the dramatic history of the ghost city of Maaken.

Just got my copy recently, but I still have to start reading it. From my brief skim, it looks like a very well put together product, rightly deserving of all the praise it's getting.

Well done Wolf. :) And how goes the Bestiary?

There are maps and they take up full pages but as its only an A5 book many are just too small to really appreciate the detail on them, particularly the Holmgard one. This is a real pity as they are very nicely drawn indeed. I hope that Mongoose release the maps as larger PDFs as it would be a shame if all we had were the hardcopy ones or had to go out and buy the PDF of the book just to get the maps in a size that can be enlarged. C'mon Matt, you know it makes sense!

Hey Matt, the link to he maps isn't up anymore, any chance of reinstating it?

What I love about this book is the complete absence of any rule system, its just wall to wall setting material. I think this is one of the benefits of the rules light system as we get this kind of product.

Again, my review was positive a page or so ago, but I've really enjoyed reading this. It has set a very high standard.

I hope it sells well and we get setting books for most of the major areas/nations of Magnamund. I know some are on the way but it'd be lovely to get others if they are this well put together.

No problem. Seriously, credit where it is due. The Sommerlund supplement is one of the best RPG purchases I have made this year.

I think Durenor would make a great companion piece to Sommerlund.

When I first starting getting into the Lone Wolf books all those years ago Sommerlund/Durenor felt like the Magnamund versions of Rohan/Gondor in their relationship and the Seal of Hammerdal was effectively the Red Arrow.
