Alright....Let me mention this here. Best bet for anything with miniatures....Go 15mm sci-fi and get as creative and original as possible. There's an enormous market out for them now and several companies are doing very well off sci-fi miniatures...but there are still several little niche spots to fill....Of course, having some sort of ruleset that's easy, perhaps a basis of the quick skirmish BF:Evo rules, could help since people seem to like very quick pick up and easy play skirmish rules.

Really my points to this are...
1. Sci-fi is the IN thing in tabletop gaming.
2. 15mm is also the IN thing in minis. (As this is a recession. and 15s are cheaper than plastic 28s and much faster and easier to paint.)

It would be a scale switch for you perhaps, but considering the popularity of 15s, many people won't need to switch. Also, I see no problem really with terrain. Everything short of buildings and Earthworks can be used in any scale. Example. We have a four layer Styrofoam hill we use at my house. In 25-28mm scale, it's a decent sized small to medium hill. In 15mm, it's a large hill to small mountain.

Buildings are another story, very incompatible scalewise.

Some Earthworks, defensive stuffs, etc can carry over though.... Only some. Like 15mm AT landmine fields can....provided there are no signs or such on the base, become 25-28mm AP landmine fields. There are more examples, but I'm in the middle of ungluing my fingers from each other while assembling a tanker bug model. Lol. So Imma go focus on that now. :D
