Some Questions about MWWG

I've heard a little about this setting on these forums, and I've seen it's subpage on the main website. As it's apparently going to be re-released, I figured I may as well ask some questions that've been gnawing at me.

First of all, can anyone give me a broad overlook over what the background of the setting is? I'm not asking for the precise details, I can buy the book for that, just the overview on what "The Dang" was and why it has caused women to start running around in skimpy clothes with big guns.

Secondly, besides the Bat-Winged Bimbos, are there any non-human races playable in the setting? For some weird reason, a catgirl-based race seems like it'd actually fit into MWWG.

Finally, can anyone point me towards fancreations -feats, classes, drawback, races, whatever- for this setting? Either on this forum or on other sites on the web? Come to think of it, are there any known MWWG D20 fansites?

Basic overview:

Most of the men were killed in The Dang. Only enough were left alive to "make things interesting". Global warming warmed up the planet. Every menance conceived to menance the earth came by to menace the earth. Big guns were needed to fight off the global menaces.

That's the basic overview.

I think there is still a thread here where I posted about a slightly more serious take on the setting, with a proposed future history, and some ideas to give Texas some more respect. But that is all my opinion. I am nobody.

You can have any non-human race you desire. I think bat-winged bimbos are the only ones defined, but catgirls would certainly fit.

Well, there is this forum. I've seen some others, but don't have the URLs handy. You can goggle "Macho Women With Guns". That should get you where you want to be.

On another forum I posted a thread about a proposed campaign called "Stand of the Last Men", which is a much more serious take on the evolution of a world where the men were all dying, possibly using the D6 Adventure game system. If anybody is interested, I can post a link.

Is there an errata posted for MWWG somewhere? The Zap 1 and Zap 2 entries in my copy are messed up. I don't know how much damage Zap 1 does and I don't know how much mana Zap 2 costs.

:( :?:

I'm interested! :)

I agree, I would like to see that project of yours.

Speaking on the subject of men, exactly what is their population and social status after the Dang? Also, I vaguely recall hearing something about two robots from the (still male-controlled) area of Texas that are specifically programmed ot hunt down Macho Women- can anyone give me the details and what these bots are, what they're supposed to actually do and how they do it?

I'd love to see it re-released. It's one that was suggested to me that I wouldn't mind getting my hands on, but I'm not sure I want to pay $40 for something I know very little about.

There's a PDF diet edition for $7 you could try:

My thread on the Stand of the Last Men can be found here:

This is a lot more like the comic book Y: The Last men than like the Macho Women With Guns sourcebook.

I'd been looking at that one, but I wasn't sure what the difference was between the regular version and the 'diet' version.

Mostly just less artwork. They may have removed some of the "fluff", but I don't think so. (I've been wrong before  )
