During playtesting, we found photographic evidence of all sorts of ships releasing smoke (inlcuding the Scharnhorst, I believe), and changed the rules on exactly which ships could use it. However, I can honestly say I can't remeber the final decision :?

BTW I'm asking these probing questions, as I am starting to build my RN Fleet. I've got one ship at the moment (York Class), and I've ordered more (Hood class, King George V class, and 2 Leander class).

Most vessels right down to MTBs had some form of generating smoke.
