Slight Confusion

With beam weapons, where you need to get a number higher than the one before to keep getting hits, does AP or SAP make any diffeerence, or are they ignored.
Eg.

I attack a ship with hull 5 with a beam weapon which has SAP trait, so i ony need a 3 to gain a hit, but to hit again i need a 6, so will a 4 (plus SAP) do, or do i have to get a 6 on the die (ie SAP has no effect)

Thanks

the trait is always in effect, so you hit a hull 6 on a 4, then a 5, then a 6, and continue on a 6 , as it gets progressively harder, but you never jump from a 4 to a 6,.

nope, EVERY beam, increases it's to hit number by 1 each set of dice (until it hits 6) irrespective of any other stats, the only exception used to be the accurate trait, and that got axed in SFOS

No, it goes up by 1 every time.
Otherwise SAP Beam on hull 4 would be horrendous!!! (even worse than it is now, that is)

And remember, a 1 always misses, so a roll of 1 with a Super AP weapon will miss a Hull 3 Tishat or Nial
Yes but the next beam roll will still have target number of 2.
